Santhosh Suvarna is one of the most revered and respected poker players from the Indian poker circuit. And rightly so, after all the high-stakes pro has achieved some great and unbelievable feats. He has achieved many firsts for the country, thus putting India on the global poker map.

Suvarna is the only Indian player who is actively seen playing the Triton Poker Series religiously every season. And not only playing, he has consistently been cashing and recording results as well. For the uninformed, the Triton Poker Series is one of the most premium and high-stakes poker tournament series across the globe. It is a high-roller series, which features massive buy-ins as well as rewards for every event.

The Dubai-based Indian entrepreneur has made quite some headlines in the high-stakes poker scene over the past couple of years. In fact, Santhosh happens to be the first and only Indian poker player to date to have won a Triton poker title.

In 2022 alone he managed to rake up almost half a million in winnings. He kept his momentum going in 2023 amassing a whopping $6 million. One of his highlight 2023 achievements was claiming a prestigious WSOP Europe gold bracelet in November 2023.

Survana cashed a massive €650,000 for taking down the Diamond High Roller after knocking out China’s Ren Lin in the heads-up. It was no ordinary feat given it was a tough final table that included Chris Brewer and Daniel Dvoress.

Suvarna outlasted a field of 37 entries at €49,500 + 500 No Limit Hold’em – WSOPE 50k Diamond High Roller (Bracelet Event #12) at World Series of Poker Europe – WSOPE 2023, held at King’s Resort Rozvadov. The event had a highly competitive field including known pros like Martin Kabrhel (6th), Chris Brewer (4th), recent €25,000 event winner Daniel Dvoress (3rd), and Ren Lin (2nd).

Brewer and Lin are both currently sitting inside the top six in the POY standings, with each having made 25 final tables this year. Lin has won two titles along the way, while Brewer has captured five, including two bracelets. With more than $13.4 million in POY earnings, Brewer trails only Ike Haxton ($14.5 million) in that key metric.

In the final hand of the heads-up against Ren Lin, Suvarna open jammed with 2,900,000 holding K6. The opponent tanked for a while before making a decision given he had only six big blinds left. Lin decided to make the call holding J2 in hand. The board fanned out 4♥ Q♠ 9♣ 7♠ 7♦ giving Suvarna the coveted title. Suvarna walked away with his first-ever WSOP victory and the bracelet.
