Finnish players are taking the 2024 PGT PLO Series’ felts by storm. Two multi-event winners have been crowned so far at the ongoing series and both of them hail from Finland. Just a day after Samuli Sipila won his second title of the PLO series, Eelis Parssinen shipped Event #8: $15,100 Pot-Limit Omaha of the series. He took home $348,600 for his second title, following his recent $7,600 bounty event win.

The WSOP bracelet winner has cashed in four of the eight completed events at the ongoing PGT PLO Series. With 565 PGT points and $515,850 in prize pool earnings, he now leads the festival-long points race.

There was plenty of tough competition for the Finnish champion, with top tournament players like Dan Smith (12th), Sam Soverel (10th), and Jesse Lonis (8th) all running deep in the tournament.

It was a two-day event and the final day began with bracelet winner Alex Foxen in the chip lead among the final six players, while Parssinene held the second-shortest stack to start.

An early double for Parssinen gave him a good start. He then won a big pot with pocket aces besting the pocket queens of Lou Garza (6th – $62,250).  The next players to fall were two-time bracelet winners in Erik Seidel (5th – $87,150) and Joao Simao (4th-$118,275). Simao got all-in with pocket aces against the pocket queens of Parssinen, who spiked a queen and held from there to win the pot.

Parssinen then eliminated Duek who cashed for $161,850 as the third-place finisher to move into the heads -up with 6,375,000 to Foxen’s 4,000,000. Foxen was able to battle his way into the lead but Parssinen regained the chip lead to win the title. On the final hand,  Parssinen held Js 7d 6d 5d against his opponent’s Qs 7s 5s 5c. The board ran out 7h 6s 2s Ac 6c, giving Parssinen the coveted title.
