The PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris 2024 is in full swing, with the €5,300 EPT Main Event completing its second and final flight at the Palais des Congres. The event attracted a remarkable 1,054 entries over its two flights, bringing the total field to 1,661, surpassing last year’s turnout. In total, 358 players qualified from the second and final flight, with Gregory Fournier from France ending the day as the chip leader with 351,000 chips. Gheorghe Fedorca (310,500) and Ruida Lin (304,500) rounded out the top 3 stacks.
Also qualifying among the 358 qualifiers were two Indian challengers, namely Indian high-stakes sensation Santhosh Suvarna (83,500), Apoorva Goel (33,000) and Krishna Madhariwar (26,500).
Talking about the opening flight of the event, it drew a total of 607 entries and saw two Indians advance among the 200 qualifiers, led by Finland’s Eero Rantala (299,000). India’s Sahil Chuttani (183,000) bagged the 19th largest stack, while WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (fresh off his 228th place in the €2,200 France Poker Series High Roller for €3,340) bagged above-average stack of 60,000.
EPT Main Event Day 2 Highlights
On Day 2, 86 new participants joined the 558 Day 1 survivors, building a total field of 1,747 entries with a prize pool of €8,385,600. Payouts were reserved for the top 255 players. The bubble burst towards the day’s end when Canada’s Eliot Hudon eliminated Ignacio Molina in 256th place.

Five Indians advanced to Day 2, with WSOPE champion Santhos Suvarna, Apoorval Goel, and Krishna Madhariwar qualifying through Day 1B, and Sahil Chutani and WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer qualifying through Day 1A. The latest update reveals that 222 players have secured a spot in Day 3. Eliot Hudon from Canada leads with an impressive stack of 955,000 (191 bbs), and he is followed by Greek pro Alexios Zervos (788,000) and Austria’s Matthias Lipp holding a stack of 714,000 chips.
Of the five Indian contenders on Day 2, only Sahil Chutani and Santhosh Suvarna (who had won his maiden World Series of Poker Europe bracelet in November 2023) have advanced to Day 3. A familiar face on the European circuit, Chuttani qualified with 359,000 chips (49th largest stack among the 222 survivors), while Suvarna bagged 136,000 in chips. Day 3 begins with 60 minutes remaining in Level 16 with blinds of 2,500-5,000 and a 5,000 big blind ante. The winner will take home a hefty €1,287,800, while the runner-up will have a payday of €804,750.
