The live poker scene has exploded with several prestigious live events taking place across the world. One of the key events to conclude recently was the 2024 Merit Poker Carmen Series $3,300 Main Event where Lebanon’s Elie Farah stole the show, outlasting a field of 664 entrants to clinch the coveted title and the top prize worth $338,500.
Farah’s journey in this prestigious event was a display of sheer determination and skill and it took over 12 hours for him to outlast 41 players on the final day to win the coveted title.
Merit Poker Carmen Series 2024 Main Event Final Day
Generating a prize pool of $1,832,640 and smashing the $1,000,000 guarantee with a strong turnout, the Merit Poker Carmen Series $3,300 Main Event concluded on a successful note.
The third and final day of this main event began with 41 players, with the likes of Simone Andrian (28th – $10,445), Day 2 chip leader Fausto Tantillo (22nd – $13,560), and Andrey Pateychuk (20th – $15,205) all falling out before the final table, which was formed after the elimination of Umutcan Ipekoglu (10th – $24,930).
Farah began the final table with the sixth-largest stack, but exhibited unwavering determination, showcasing his strategic prowess to secure crucial knockouts of Tahsin Cankurtaranli, Dmitry Gromov and Lybaert. From there on, he never looked back, eventually claiming the title.
Elie Farah vs Felipe Ketzer
Down to three-handed play, Ketzer, Farah, and Dinesh Alt were very close in chips. After a brief battle, Ketzer claimed most of Alt’s chip stack and then Farah finally finished off Alt to move into the heads-up.
The Elie Farah vs Felipe Ketzer head-up battle was a tense affair. Ketzer started the final duel with a modest lead but Farah displayed nerves of steel, picking up quickly and seizing the victory. On the final hand of the tournament, Farah holding the top pair called off Ketzer who had a straight as well as a flush draw. The latter missed his draw and bowed out in second-place.
Farah claimed the coveted pot and the title for a hefty $338,500 prize money, beating his previous $30,255 that he had earned for an eighth-place finish in the 2022 Merit Poker Retro Series Main Event for $30,255. Brazil Ketzer was awarded $249,200 as the runner-up.

Dylan Weisman Becomes 3rd PGT Title Winner With His PLO Series $10,100 Event Win
Dylan Weisman continues to showcase his dominance in the PLO arena, clinching yet another victory in the ongoing PokerGO Tour Pot-Limit Omaha Series. Weisman, a WSOP bracelet winner, defeated 85 entries in Event #6: $10,100 Pot-Limit Omaha, securing the lion’s share of the $850,000 prize pool. This was Weisman’s third title in the 2024 PGT events, earning him a hefty $229,500 prize.

A Little About Dylan Weisman and His Final Table Journey
Weisman is one of the most-recognizable faces from the United States. He earned his first live cash in 2016 and since then has amassed over $3,493,838 in live earnings. He is a proud WSOP bracelet winner with multiple PTG titles. This was his fourth-largest tournament score, bringing his career earnings to more than $3.5 million. Four of his five top scores have come in pot-limit Omaha events.
Entering the final day of Event #6: $10,100 Pot-Limit Omaha as the chip leader among six players, Weisman displayed remarkable skill and tenacity, scoring several crucial knockouts, which included Stefan Christopher (6th) and Ian Matakis (5th to enter four-handed play with the chip lead. Weisman then finished off Kempton to narrow the field to three.
The next knockout saw Weisman hit trips with A-K-Q-2 to beat the A-K-K-8 rainbow of Spurlin, who earned $106,250 as the third-place finisher. In a climactic final hand, Weisman turned over Qs 8d 5d 2c for a six-high straight, beating Guerra’s Ad 10d 10s 5s for nut flush draw to clinch the title.
Weisman Moves to the Top of PGT Leaderboard 2024
With his latest PGT victory, Weisman not only adds yet another title to his resume but also moves to the top of the PGT Leaderboard 2024. With the win, Weisman picked up his third cash of the series and took his total point count to 230, moving three points ahead of Event #4 Champion Samuli Sipila

Ronald Keijzer Wins PGT PLO Series $5,100 Progressive Bounty Event
Ronald Keijzer etched his name as the PokerGO Tour Pot-Limit Omaha Series $5,100 Progressive Bounty Event champion. The Dutch pro showcased exceptional skills, securing a remarkable comeback against Josh Arieh in the heads-up to win Event #5: $5,100 Pot-Limit Omaha Progressive Bounty. This was the third cash of the series for the WSOP bracelet winner from Rotterdam. He has cashed $166,200 in payouts from the ongoing series, amassing 246 PGT rankings points.
Keijzer’s road to the victory was not easy, as he had to face a tough field of 139 entries. He started the six-handed final table on good note, scoring the first elimination in Blake Hanson and then went out to outlast seasoned pros to eventually enter the heads-up with Josh Arieh .
In a dramatic heads-up battle, Keijzer overcame a significant chip deficit to emerge victorious against Arieh. The final hand of the tournament saw Arieh shove on the 5s 4h 2h flop. Arieh held 10h 8h 7d 5d against his opponent’s Ah 7h Jc 3d. The turn Ad and the river 7c meant Keijzer’s wheel was good enough to win him the pot as well as the title. Arieh walked away with $80,275 from the main prize pool and $31,000 in bounty payouts. With the win, Keijzer propelled himself to second place in the PGT Leaderboard 2024, solidifying his stature as one of the most solid PLO players on the circuit.
