Christopher Costa, who won his first live tournament a year ago, secured his maiden PGT title by triumphing in the 2025 PGT PLO Event #5. For this victory, Costa earned $ 123,000 and an impressive $190,000 in bounty prize. This career-defining victory has pushed his lifetime tournament earnings past $341,839. Costa is a recreational poker player from Las Vegas and is a Plastic Surgeon by profession.

Costa’s first recorded live cash came in 2011, when he finished in 8th place in the 2011 Borgata Poker Open NLH for just $2,713. He then made his return to the poker scene in 2023, winning his maiden poker title at the Wynn Signature Series’ $400 PLO Turbo Event, adding $9,311 to his resume. Here is a quick recap of the event.

2025 PGT PLO Event #5 Progressive Bounty Quick Recap

The $10K buy-in PLO Progressive Bounty event at the 2025 PGT PLO saw an elite field of 116 runners, generating a total prize pool of $696K. Of the 116 players, only the top 17 earned a payout. The final five players formed the final table, which PokerGO streamed live. Jesse Lonis, Richard Gryko, and Nick Schulman did not make the final five, finishing in 9th, 8th, and 6th place, respectively.

Costa entered the live-streamed final table with a massive chip lead and ultimately struck gold by winning the tournament. He was followed by high-stakes pro Alex Foxen, who held the second-largest stack. Foxen eliminated Kamel Mokhammad in 5th place for a $48,720 payday and $8K in bounties. Mokhammad was followed by Bruno Furth, Jordan Glazer, and Alex Foxen, who all fell victim to Costa’s top-notch poker play. Jordan Glazer rounded out the podium, banking $80,200 for his 3rd-place finish along with another $5K in bounties.

The heads-up play between Costa and Foxen was short-lived. “The Doctor” entered the duel with a humongous chip lead and swiftly extended his advantage against the three-time bracelet winner. In the final hand, Foxen jammed his stack with Ad-Qd-5s-2c, and Costa snap-called with As-9h-9d-6c. The board ran out in Costa’s favor, knocking Foxen out of the tournament.

Alex Foxen finished as the runner-up, collecting an impressive $123,200 plus $10K in bounties. In addition to the top prize, Costa also secured a whopping $190K in bounties.

The other winners of the ongoing 2025 PGT PLO at the Aria Poker Room include Ky Nguyen (Event #1), Billy Tarango (Event #2), Daniel Negreanu (Event #3), and Chino Rheem (Event #4).
