DPT May’24 Day 3 Highlights: Harshdev & Naveen Kumar Claim Titles

The Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) May 2024 is running full steam at the Deltin Royale casino in Goa. Day 3 of India’s premier poker festival was an action-packed affair. The day saw two tournaments reach their conclusion. The biggest of the two was the 1.110 Lakh GTD Highroller that drew an impressive 157 entrants and generated more than INR 1.57 Crores in prize pool, which was finally shared by the top 20 finishers. In the end, the lion’s share went to Mumbai’s Harshdev Jhirmiria who overcame the former DPT Main Event champion Rishabh Vekaria in the heads-up battle, securing his maiden DPTtitle and an impressive INR 34,30,180. This was the second live title of 2024 for Jhirmiria  who recently made headlines for shipping the Mystery Bounty event at Poker Dream 9 Malaysia.

The DPT May 2024 Highroller final table was a rather star studded one featuring big names like Natural8 India director  Kunal Patni, Kanchan Sharma, Ashish Ahuja, and Myron Pereira.  The heads-up was a short lived affair and lasted only a few hands. On the final hand, Vekaria had 5Jo while his rival had 93o. The board ran out 8♥ 7♦ 9♦ 3♠ 5♣, giving Jhirmiria the coveted pot as well as the title.

Naveen Kumar Crowned DPT Micro Main Event Champion!

Another event to conclude was the INR 16, 500 buy-in Micro Main Event, which crowned a winner in Naveen Kumar. He overcame a challenging field of 345 entries and the formidable Shravan Chhabria in the heads-up. In the climactic final hand, Navin Kumar held J♦ 6♥, while Shravan Chhabria held K♣ J♣. The board ran out 6♣ 9♣ 8♠ J♠ 3♥, giving Kumar the coveted title.

Akshay Joshi Tops DPT Main Event Day 1A Survivors

There were a total of four events on the DPT May 2024 schedule yesterday, including Day 1A of the Main Event. Following 17 levels of  play, only 11 players remained from the original 84 entries for the opening flight of the Main Event. Akshay Joshi ended the day with a commanding stack of 450K. Close behind were Vaibhav Shah with 378K chips and Srikanth Pradhan (103k). Here are the chip counts:

After 18 intense levels of play, Day 1 of the DPT Mini Main Event concluded with 26 players remaining out of the initial 217 entrants. Udit Baid leads the pack with an impressive stack of 451k, closely followed by Kapil Arora with 429k. Vaibhav Khurana (408k) rounds out the top three stacks of the day.
