With the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2024 just ended in all its glory and exceptional records setting the bar really high for the series as a whole as well for individual players who achieved extraordinary results.
Several players have nailed great results in the 55th WSOP 2024 series. Naturally, the GPI rankings of players also changed drastically. This year’s WSOP also witnessed incredible performances from Asian players.
Given that WSOP 2024 has officially drawn its curtains, let’s have a look at the latest updated GPI rankings by Asian players in the circuit.
Among the Asian circuit, China’s Tony ‘Ren’ Lin continues to rule the GPI Asia rankings with 3,952.21 GPI points. His top position reflects his impressive performances in recent tournaments especially in WSOP 2024. Tony ‘Ren’ Lin is a significant name in the poker circuit known for his strategic brilliance and consistent finishes. Notably, he also ranks second on the global GPI rankings list.
Tony ‘Ren’ Lin has over the years gradually climbed the ranks, displaying his skill and determination. His recent achievements further reinstate his strategic prowess especially given his recent deep runs in major events and notable cashes. As the Chinese player continues to compete at the highest levels, his ranking update underscores his growing influence and presence in the world of professional poker.
Tony ‘Ren’ Lin recorded six cashes at the live events of WSOP 2024 along with one cash in WSOP Online 2024 bracelet event. He fell just short of his first ever WSOP bracelet this year at the Bracelet Event #50: Limit Razz Championship. He made it to the final table and finished at the second runner-up spot, narrowly missing gold. He pocketed $130,447 for his third place finish. This even won him 263.69 GPI points.
Apart from WSOP, Tony ‘Ren’ Lin made the most of his Las Vegas trip by cashing $24,273 for his 125th place finish at the No Limit Hold’em – Wynn Summer Championship in Las Vegas.
Following Tony “Ren” Lin is Thailand’s Punnat Punsri with 3,789.75 GPI points. He recorded nine cashes at the recently concluded edition of WSOP 2024. Punnat Punsri also ranks fifth on the global GPI rankings. His best cash was $523,648 at No Limit Hold’em – 8-Handed (Bracelet Event #87). Notably, Punsri also narrowly missed his first bracelet at this event by finishing at the runner-up spot.
At the third spot on GPI Asia rankings is Daniel Chi Tang. The Hong Kong-based player sits at the third place with 3,690.64 GPI points. Notably, he ranks 9th on the global GPI rankings. Daniel Chi Tang recorded just three cashes at the WSOP 2024, which included a significant second place finish at Pot Limit Omaha – High Roller (Bracelet Event #79), for which banked $1,400,217 in prize money.
Quan Zhou follows at the fourth place with 3,390.90 GPI points to flaunt. He also ranks 23rd on the global GPI rankings. The Chinese pro recorded 12 cashes at the WSOP 2024. His best cash at the series was at the No Limit Hold’em/Pot Limit Omaha – Double Board Bomb Pot (Bracelet Event #41) wherein he finished 5th for a paycheque of $66,930 GPI points.
At the fifth spot is another Chinese player Biao Ding, who has 3,273.05 GPI points to his credit. He ranks 35th on the global GPI rankings. Interestingly, this Triton Poker champion had just one cash at WSOP 2024 at the No Limit Hold’em – MAIN EVENT World Championship (Bracelet Event #81). He finished at the 69th place taking home $140,000 in prize money.

Notably, the GPI asia rankings also include two Indian players namely Santhosh Suvarna and Ankit Ahuja. From these Santhosh Suvarna had a historic WSOP season at the 55th WSOP in 2024 by clinching his second WSOP bracelet. And it wasn’t an ordinary one, he took down the most expensive and highlighted event on schedule – the $250,000 Super High Roller event at the 2024 WSOP for a massive paycheque of $5,415,152. With that he also became the second highest earner at the WSOP 2024 season by pocketing a total of $6,055,453, which came from five cashes in the series. This also helped boost his GPI rankings.
