The Global Poker Index (GPI) ranking is an exhaustive list of poker players that gives an overview of the current poker scene. The GPI rankings give players a stage that glorifies their skills, consistency, and impact within the global poker community.
The GPI global rankings are an exhaustive list that records the data about worldwide players. Similarly, the GPI ranking also has a separate filter that bifurcates the data of Indian players. This India-exclusive ranking lists the Indian players based on their performances.
The players are awarded GPI points based on their recent performances and results which helps them rank on the leaderboard.
Indian pro Ankit Ahuja continues to dominate the GPI India rankings with 3,138.31 GPI points. Apart from ranking first on the GPI rankings for India Ankit Ahuja also ranks 49th on the worldwide GPI rankings. Most recently he was seen grinding at the 55th World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2024 in Las Vegas. He cashed at 6 events in the series. His biggest result at the series was $77,787 which he pocketed for his 5th place finish at No Limit Hold’em – Poker Hall of Fame Bounty (Bracelet Event #95).
His other cashes at WSOP 2024 included a 465th place finish for $3,000 at No Limit Hold’em – The Closer (Bracelet Event #98), 50th place at No Limit Hold’em – Millionaire Maker (Bracelet Event #54) for $30,300, 26th place finish for $18,225 at No Limit Hold’em – Freezeout (Bracelet Event #49).
Additionally he also finished 77th at Pot Limit Omaha – 8-Handed (Bracelet Event #48) for a paycheque of $3,400 and 130th place ITM finish at No Limit Hold’em – Freezeout (Bracelet Event #28) for $3,661.
At the second spot is Triton Poker champion and India’s only two time WSOP bracelet winner Santosh Suvarna with 3,125.55 GPI points. Not very far behind Ankit Ahuja, he ranks 50th at the overal GPI ranking. The champion was last seen at Super High Roller Bowl Series Cyprus (SHRB)Kyrenia, Cyprus wherein he narrowly missed the No Limit Hold’em – SHRB #01 8-Max title after finishing 2nd for $220,000. Additionally, he also recently recorded 5 cashes at WSOP 2024, the highest being his No Limit Hold’em – Super High Roller (Bracelet Event #55) victory for $5,415,152.
At the third spot is India’s first solo WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer, who recorded a total of seven cashes at WSOP 2024. His highest cash was at No Limit Hold’em – 8-Handed (Bracelet Event #87) wherein he finished 26th for $26,212. Iyer enjoys the 3rd spot on GPI India rankings with 2,152.90 GPI points.
Abhinav Iyer is followed by India’s first online WSOP bracelet winner Kartik Ved with 2,108.19 GPI points. He was also last seen at WSOP 2024, wherein he cashed a total of 8 times. His best cash at the 2024 season of WSOP was his 4th place finish at No Limit Hold’em – 8-Handed (Bracelet Event #16) for which he pocketed $220,373.
At the fifth spot is Natural8 ambassador Kunal Patni sitting with 1,705.01 GPI points. The investment banker turned poker player was last seen taking home 6 cashes at WSOP 2024. The best of this coming from No Limit Hold’em (Bracelet Event #60), wherein he finished 20th for $24,697.
The ther players in the top 10 of GPI ranking for India include Amit Kaushik at the sixth place with 1,687.48 GPI points, Sriharsha Doddapaneni at the seventh place for 1,566.70 GPI points and Zarvan Tumboli taking the eighth place for 1,490.79 GPI points.
Finally Vishal Ojha takes the 9th place for 1,445.60 GPI points and Nipun Java ranks 10th on GPI India Rankings with 1,443.79 GPI points to his credit.
