Angela Jordison has been grinding in the Mid Stakes Poker Tour since 2021, and after 3 years of hard work, Jordison finally claimed her first MSPT main event  title and a top prize of $161,513, exceeding $1.5 million in live career earnings.

Jordison has cashed in over 13 MSPT events, with 12 cashes coming in Main Event, out of which she made 4 final table finishes, banking over $320,000 in MSPT earnings.  Jordison was among the finalists to win the 2022 GPI Female Player of the Year, but she missed it to Cherish Andrews. Instead, Jordison was crowned as the Breakout Player of the Year in the 4th Annual Global Poker Awards.

The MSPT $1,110 NLH Main Event attracted 861 players, nearly doubling up the guaranteed prize pool of $500,000 to $831,370, which was split among the top 93 players. 93 players returned to the final Day 2 and battled over 14 hours until one of them claimed the 1st position. Here is the final table recap of the MSPT East Chicago Main Event.

With 30 players left on Day, there were 8 former MSPT champions in contention for the title. Many famed players fell in between including Ari Engel (30th-$3,644), current POY front runner Chris Meyers (28th-$3,644), Chris Audrain (24th-$5,881), Rob Wazwaz (23rd-$5,881), Sarah Stefan (16th-$8,283), and defending POY Umut Ozturk (14th-$9,939). The final table was reached after the elimination of Zal Irani (10th for $11,596), whose top pair did not hold up against John Reading’s straight.

2024 MSPT East Chicago Main Event Final Table Recap and Standings

The final table was formed with Silvan Barbura holding the chip lead and Angela Jordison with a moderate chip stack. The final table saw its first elimination after an hour of play.

Table short, Chris Moon could not double up, and he moved all in as soon as he saw his pocket nines, only to get beaten by Craig Trost’s Ah-10c, which flopped a full house. Moon existed in 9th place for $14,909.

Two hours later, John Reading bowed out in 8th place, banking $19,050. Daniel Goepel, who held a moderate-level chip, lost his stack gradually and moved all-in with Ah-10h, unfortunately, to meet Miguel Martinez’s Ac-As. Daniel Goepel went to the rail in 7th place and collected $24,020.

Angela Jordison scored her first final table elimination by sending out Michael Estes to the railbirds. Michael Estes went home in 6th place and received $31,474 for his deep run.

Final table chip leader Silvan Barbura left with a few big blinds, so he went all-in with pocket nines, and Craig Trost called it with Ah-Js. The board came out Ac-Qs-3h-Ad-Jc, giving Trost another full house and his second elimination of the final table.

Silvan Barbura collected $41,414 for his 5th-place finish.

Brad Seigel needed a double-up to stay alive, so he went all-in with Kh-8h, and Angela Jordison called the all-in with pocket jacks. Seidel’s hand couldn’t improve, ending his deep run in 4th place for $54,666.

Craig Trost’s dominating run came to an end after he went all-in with his lucky As-10c, and Miguel Martinez called it with pocket sevens. Neither player hit a flop, but Martinez’s pocket sevens withstand Trost’s A-10. Trost collected $73,219 for his 3rd place finish.

In the heads-up play, Angela Jordison held a big chip lead against Miguel Martinez. As the game was over 14 hours, Miguel Martinez went all-in with 10c-10d, and Jordison called the all-in with Ac-7c. The board came out Qc-Jc-6s-6c-Qs, giving Jordison a flush.

Miguel Martinez finished the main event as the runner-up, banking $99,395. Jordison scored her highest-ever earnings of $161,513 and added an MSPT trophy to her trophy case.
