The APT Taipei 2024, the grandest and longest festival in Asian Poker Tour history, began on February 28 and is set to run until March 10, featuring an impressive lineup of 105 Trophy Events and over TWD 150 million (USD 4.8 million) in prize pool guarantees. In the midst of this poker extravaganza, more than 20 champions have already been crowned. A notable highlight for India emerged in Event #3: Single Day High Roller, where Krishna Madhariwar achieved an outstanding runner-up finish, showcasing his skills and putting India on the series’ leaderboard.
Hong Kong’s Anson Tsang emerged as the champion of the TWD 100,000 Event #3: Single Day High Roller – Freezeout, which saw a field of 60 players. The competitive field of the event also included Natural8 Ambassadors Danny Tang, Punnat Punsri, and Yu Chung ‘Nevan’ Chang, as well as international talents like Steve O’Dwyer and Jason Mo.
Out of the total prize pool of TWD 5,238,000 (USD 165,460), only the top nine players received payouts. Tsang emerged victorious, securing the top prize of TWD 1,526,000 (USD 48,205) and his second APT title after defeating India’s Krishna Madhariwar in the heads-up battle.
Madhariwar, who was in the hunt for his first APT title, secured the runner-up prize of TWD 1,100,000 (USD 34,750). This was the second cash of the month for the Indian pro as he earlier cashed € 2,200 No Limit Hold’em – Deepstack (Event #40) at the EPT Paris, securing an impressive € 18,200 for his eighth place in the tournament.
Malaysia’s Tien Loon Ling was the last player to finish on the podium, earning TWD 715,000 (USD 22,585).Denmark’s Henrik Hecklen placed fourth and banked TWD 540,000 for his efforts.

Lester Edoc Wins Single Day High Roller; Santhosh Suvarna Finishes Fourth
Fresh off his maiden EPT Paris victory, India’s Suvarna came close to winning an early title at APT Taipei. He eventualy placed fourth in Event #15: TWD 130,000 Single Day High Roller, earning a whopping TWD 961,000.
The two-time APT Main Event champion from 2018, Lester Edoc from the Philippines, won the even after besting a field of 86 contenders. He took home the lion`s share of the TWD 9,760,140 prize pool worth TWD 2,686,140, marking his 18th APT title. Austria`s Daniel Smiljkovic finished runner-up and walked away with TWD 1,908,000 for his remarkable finish.
