Meet Rising Star Aayush Arya Who Recently Won WPT Cambodia Deepstack

Meet Aayush Arya, a 26-year-old poker sensation hailing from Delhi, who has rapidly ascended the ranks in both live and online poker circuits.  Holding an engineering degree from BITS Pilani, Arya kicked off his poker journey online, gradually transitioning to live events.

Arya’s poker story started at BITS Pilani. He was introduced to poker by a friend and he started playing the game during his second year of his college. His dedication to the game, coupled with his passion for leaning and excelling at the game ,made him a better player.

He first hogged the spotlight for a spectacular triumph in the DPT High Roller in April 2022, securing Rs. 32.94 Lakhs and establishing himself as a recognizable figure in India’s poker community. 

Post his DPT High Roller victory, Arya made noise across some prestigious live poker events in the Asian region, cashing in over four tournaments. Notably, he placed 3rd in the $ 200 No Limit Hold’em (Event 2) and 5th  place in APPT Mini Main (Event #36) at APPT Cambodia in May 2022. Unfazed, he continued his momentum, clinching his maiden WSOP bracelet in WSOP Online Event #22: $400 COLOSSUS in September 2023. His most recent achievements were a victory worth $9,152 in Event #18 at 2024 WPT Cambodia and a 7th place for $2,829 in the HSOP Grinder Main Event. Both these live scores came last month and made him a formidable competitor on the Asian circuit.

Talking about his online records, he has over 98 titles and more than Rs. 7.05 Crores in winnings. The pinnacle point of Arya’s career unfolded recently in September 2023 when he bested a massive field of 10,812 contenders in WSOP Online Event #22: $400 COLOSSUS, winning an impressive $331,878.31 (Rs. 2.76 Crores) and his maiden WSOP bracelet. This victory not only solidified Arya’s success but also elevated India’s position on the global poker map. Some of his other notable victories in the second half of 2023 included winning PokerBaazi`s The MoneyMaker 40.0 for a remarkable Rs 11.50 Lakhs (September 2023) and Spartan Poker’s DCS #40 High Roller (6-Max) for an impressive Rs. 12.12 Lakhs (October 2023).
