GGPoker ambassador Daniel Negreanu has secured his first win of 2025 by claiming victory in Event #6: $15,200 Dealer’s Choice at PokerGO Tour (PGT) Mixed Games 2025. The latest win marks Negreanu’s 10th PGT title and ties him with Stephen Chidwick for the most PGT titles.
To claim the latest PGT win, the seven-time WSOP bracelet winner overcame a field of 65 contenders and defeated Nick Schulman in heads-up for the title. Negreanu took home a hefty $292,500 payday, while Schulman walked away with an impressive $190,125 for his efforts.
Negreanu’s Road to Victory
Negreanu’s journey to victory was nothing short of spectacular. He began the final table in a thundering fashion by eliminating Ryan Miller in seventh place ($39,000) in a hand of 2-7 Single Draw. He continued his dominance and secured 80% of the chips in play during the six-handed play.
Up next, Coleman sent Dylan Smith to the rail in fifth place ($73,125) before becoming the next victim himself, falling to Negreanu in fourth place ($97,500). Yuri Dzivielevski then exited in third place ($131,625), leaving both Negreanu and Schulman in heads-up for the coveted title.
Schulman’s Comeback Effort Falls Short
Despite entering heads-up play at a massive 30-1 chip disadvantage, Schulman fought valiantly, scoring several double-ups and closing the gap. However, Negreanu did not allow him to gain control and eventually finished him off. In the final hand, Schulman held AQ73 against Negreanu AAKQ. Schulman shoved his remaining stack of 2,925,000 and Negreanu snap-called. The board ran out 6-6-5-2-J, sealing the victory for Negreanu and sending Schulman to the rail in second place ($190,125). Despite the runner-up finish, Schulman remains ahead of Negreanu in the festival’s overall points race, while Chino Rheem holds the top spot.
Event #6: $15,200 Dealer’s Choice of the PokerGO Tour (PGT) Mixed Games 2025 drew a record-setting field of 65 hopefuls for a massive $975,000 prize pool, which was finally shared by the top 10 finishers.
John Racener (10th) was first player to finish in the money, taking home $29,250. He was followed by Walter Chambers (9th for $29,250). The final table was reached after the elimination of David Rheem (8th or $39,000). The remaining seven players earned the following payouts:
