PGT Last Chance Event #6: $10,100 No-Limit Hold’em Final Table Recap
The final event of the PokerGo Tour’s Last Chance Series, Event #6: $10,100 No-Limit Hold’em, drew 116 entrants, generating a total prize pool of $1,160,000, paid out to the top 17 players.
The final table of the tournament was played on Thursday. Shannon Shorr started as a chip leader among the final six with over 4 million in chip stack. Dylan Linde was eliminated shortly after the final table kicked off, earning $46,400 for his 7th place. In addition to the payout, Linde was awarded a Dream Pass into the Dream Seat Invitational for his deep runs in the series.
Jeremy Becker was the next to follow Linde, finishing in 6th place for $58,000. Becker went all-in holding queen-nine suited only to get called by Boris Angelov’s king-queen. The board brought trip aces and the king kicker of Becker won the hand.
Stephen Chidwick was the next elimination of the final table when he went all-in in a three-way pot with pocket sevens against Ren Lin and Angelov. Lin and Angelov spiked their aces and split the pot, ending the high-stake pro Chidwick’s run in 5th for $75,400. PGT Regular Sean Winter was soon out in 4th place after he was forced all in from the big blind with Jack-nine. Lin made the call, rolling out his queen-three. The board ran in favour of Lin, sending Winter to the rail in 4th place for a $98,000 payday.
With back-to-back elimination, the Chinese pro Ren Lin took the chip lead for a moment but soon lost the lead to Shorr. A few hands later, Shorr took away the remaining chip stack of Lin, knocking him in third place. Lin earned his first six-figure sum of $127,600 this year for the 3rd place finish.
A Short-Live Heads-Up
The heads-up lasted for just three hands as the final hand of the tournament saw Angelov with pocket tens and Shorr with a jack-eight suited hand. The flop gave Shorr a jack and an eight on the turn gave Shorr a better two-pair to clinch his second title of the series. Angelov picked the six-figure score of $179,800 for his impressive runner-up finish.
