WSOP wraps up its highly successful World Series of Poker Paradise at the Atlantis Bahamas, the WSOP organizers have announced the dates for its 56th Annual World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
For the fourth consecutive year, the World Series of Poker will be held at the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas. The prestigious poker series will take place from May 27th to July 16th, 2025. As per the reports, the $10 Million GTD Main Event will kick start on July 2, 2025, with the final table taking place between 15th to 17th July inside the Horseshoe Events Center.
Back in October 2024, the popular online platform GGPoker’s parent company purchased the World Series of Poker for a massive $500 million deal. While some speculated this may change the venue of the upcoming WSOP, the platform confirmed it will host the series in Las Vegas for the next 20 years.
WSOP Chief Executive Officer Ty Stewart hinted at making 2025 WSOP bigger and better compared to the previous editions. “Each year allows us to refine further and improve the WSOP offering, and 2025 will be no exception,” Ty Stewart said. Despite some hiccups here and there, the 2024 WSOP was very much successful. The 2024 WSOP Main Event drew over 10,000 entrants and paid out $94 million to 1,517 players. Although WSOP received criticism over allowing electronic devices during the main event final table, the brand changed rules before its 2024 WSOP Paradise, banning electronic devices and live coaches.
“As the calendar flips to 2025, we’re looking forward to inviting the global poker community back to the iconic Las Vegas Strip for the 56th annual WSOP. Building on last year’s triumphs and familiar faces winning WSOP bracelets, we are excited to see who will expand their legacy or become a new legend by passing poker’s ultimate test in the game’s most iconic arena,” said Senior Vice President of Poker Operations and World Series of Poker at Caesars Entertainment Jack Effel.
What Can You Expect in the 2025 WSOP?
The full schedule for the upcoming World Series of Poker will be announced in early 2025, maybe in February or March. However, the brand has confirmed to keep the series’ popular events, which include Mystery Millions, Millionaire Maker, and the Senior’s Championship, which will return in 2025.
To spice up things even further, WSOP also hinted at adding some new and exciting formats, such as the 2024 WSOP, where it added the Mixed Game Double Board Bomb Pot, grabbing the attention of poker enthusiasts. Players looking to take part in the WSOP can look at taking part in a host of satellite tournaments to be held at GGPoker from January.
