The 2024 Euro Poker Million (EPM) held at the Grand Casino Liechtenstein, has concluded with Swiss player Denis Gergoc winning the CHF 600 buy-in Euro Poker Million Championship, capturing a staggering CHF 250k, and the euro rounders trophy.
Gergoc has been cashing in live tournaments since 2022. He has been competing in the European Poker events since his first cash in 2022 and has several deep runs in the WSOP Europe, including a circuit ring victory in the 2022 WSOP Circuit Rozvadov Main Event for a staggering $197,198.
With his recent victory, he has now cashed a career-best payday of $284,000 to almost touch the $500k mark in live poker earnings. This was also Gergoc’s first trophy win after his ring win at the World Series of Poker International Circuit.
The 2024 Euro Poker Million Final Table Recap and Payouts
The CHF 600 buy-in event saw a record 2,835 turnout to crush its CHF 1 million guarantee and generate a staggering CHF 1,469,650 total prize pool. While the winner collected CHF 250k, the top 48 players left with a payday.
The final table kicked off with Andreas Merk in the lead, while Gergoc held a smaller stack. Merk couldn’t hold onto his lead and ended up finishing in third place to collect CHF 116,000. Gergoc overcame his smaller stack and met Jakob Rapatz in the heads-up for the trophy and the title.
Gergoc held a massive 134 million chip stack against Rapatz’s 37 million. Just ten minutes into the heads-up, Rapatz went all in holding Kh-Jc, and Gergoc snap called rolling out his pocket sevens. The board ran 7c-5d-Ks-Jh-4h, and Gergoc made a set of sevens to clinch the trophy and a career-high payday. Austria’s Jakob Raptaz collected CHF 167,304 for his runner-up finish.
