Artur Martirosian & Eelis Parssinen Win Final Events at 2024 Triton Poker Monte Carlo

The 2024 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Monte Carlo, inside the luxurious Sporting Monte Carlo, has officially concluded with the wrap-up of Events 15 and 16. The last two events were related to PLO, with Event 15 being the PLO Main Event and Event 16 being a PLO bounty event. Eeslis Parssinen won the PLO Main Event, while Artur Martirosian shipped his second Triton title just one week after his first. 

Eelis Parssinen Wins Triton Event #15: $100K PLO Main Event

Finland’s Eelis Parssinen clinched the 2024 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Monte Carlo’s Event#15: $100K PLO Main Event for his first-ever Triton title, and a career-best payday of $2,270,000. Parssinen made a 4th place finish in the same event at Triton Montenegro, earlier this year for $795k, which was his best payday until now. His recent victory brought his live career earnings over $8 million to move him to the third spot on Finland’s all-time money list.

The PLO Main Event registered 87 entrants, building up a total prize pool of $8,700,000. This massive prize pool was shared among the top 14 players, with the winner receiving a bigger piece of $2.27 million. The final table was formed on Day 2, with Parssinen leading the final 7 and Phil Ivey and Alex Foxen being the table short.

Middle stack Mads Amot was the first elimination of the final table, eliminating in 7th place. Foxen. Alex Foxen was next to follow Amot and exited in 6th place. Phil Ivey, one of Triton’s regulars made his first final table finish at this year’s Triton Monte Carlo, but couldn’t get past 5th place. The heads-up battle began with the elimination of Sean Winter (4th), and Espen Myrmo (3rd).

The heads-up saw Parssinen holding 65 BBs against Dvoress’s 43 BBs. While everyone expected a long and entertaining battle, however, it was a one-man show from the Nordic pro-Parssinen. He put pressure on Dvoress immediately, leaving him with a handful of big blinds. The final hand came when Dvoress Qs-10s-Jh-4c called the all-in of Parssinen Ad-Kh-7d-4c. The board brought Js-7c-4h-Ac-As, giving Parssinen a full house. The Canadian poker pro-Dan Dvoress collected $1,563,000 for his runner-up finish.

In addition to the prize pool, trophy, and title Eelis Parssinen also received an exclusive Watch from Jacob & Co, which only Triton Main Event winners receive.

2 – Dan Dvoress – $1,563,000

3 – Espen Myrmo – $1,029,000

4 – Sean Winter – $836,000

5 – Phil Ivey – $667,000

6 – Alex Foxen – $518,000

7 – Mads Amot – $409,000

Artur Martirosian Triumph Event #16: $25K PLO BOUNTY QUATTRO

Artur Martirosian won Event 7: $30k NLH Turbo Bounty Quattro last week and has now wrapped up the 2024 Triton Poker SHRS Monte Carlo with victory in Event #16: $25K PLO Bounty Quattro, shipping his second Triton poker title. For his latest victory, he banked $525,000, including $180,000 in bounties, pushing his career earnings past $17.4 million.

The $25k buy-in PLO Bounty ended up drawing 75 entrants, creating a total prize pool of $1,875,00, out of which $570,000 was reserved for the bounty payouts. As the field narrowed down, the top 17 players shared the prize pool. India’s Santhosh Suvarna had the last chance of scoring his second title, but he failed to reach the final table, and couldn’t even make it into the money.

Ren Lin led the charge into the final table, with Martirosian being the middle of the pack. After an unsuccessful run at Triton Montenegro, Richard Gryko scored his first-ever triton cash with a 7th-place finish in the final event. He was followed by Ronny Kaiser (6th), Michael Duek (5th), and Ren Lin (4th). Martirosian knocked out Dan Smith in 3rd, kicking off the duel with Issac Haxton.

With a 2:1 chip advantage over Haxton, Martirosian easily defeated Haxton in a short two-handed battle. The final hand saw both players shoving, Haxton held Kc-Qd-5d-3s against Martirosian’s 8c-9c-Kh-8s. The board ran Qc-3c-10h-6s-4c, completing the flush of the Russian poker pro.  

Martirosian shipped his second triton poker title in one week, while Haxton earned $240,000 along with $30,000 bounties.

2 – Isaac Haxton – $240,000 + $30,000 in bounties

3 – Dan Smith – $159,000 + $120,000 in bounties

4 – Ren Lin – $124,500 + $180,000 in bounties

5 – Michael Duek – $100,000

6 – Ronny Kaiser – $78,000 + $30,000 in bounties

7 – Richard Gryko – $62,000
