There are only a few female poker players who have two or more bracelets in the World Series of Poker. While Vanessa Selbst holds the most bracelets as a female poker pro, Loni Harwood Hui is another female poker pro who holds two bracelets in the game.

Harwood began her poker career in 2008, and since then, she has never looked back. She has nearly $4 million in live tournament winnings, with an impressive 231 live cashes. In this report, we will discuss Loni Harwood Hui’s early life, poker career, top five cashes, and personal life.

Who is Loni Hui Poker Player?

Loni Harwood, also known as Loni Hui, is an American poker player currently residing in Florida. Hui was born in September 1989 on Staten Island, New York.

Hui credited her father, Joel Harwood, for teaching her poker. She grew an interest in playing poker after seeing her father play online poker. Joel Harwood has a long history in the game — as per Hendon Mob — Harwood began his live poker career in 1989 and currently has more than $370k in live earnings.

Despite her father being an avid poker player, Hui’s parents were against her decision to be a professional poker player. They wanted Luni to finish her college first, so Hui attended the State University of New York at Albany, earning a degree in finance.

After graduating with a finance degree, Hui moved to Florida, beginning her professional poker career in January 2012.

Loni Hui’s Poker Career and Winnings

Before kicking off her professional poker career, she first made a live poker appearance in 2008, where she competed in a local casino’s $500 event, earning $1,497.

Hui found immediate success after starting her professional poker career in January 2012. In February, Hui took down the WSOP Circuit West Palm Beach’s $345 NLH event, securing her first Circuit ring and a top prize of $30,994.

One year later, in July 2013, Hui won the 2013 WSOP Event #60: $1,500 NLH, claiming her first bracelet and a six-figure score of $609,017. Apparently, Phil Hellmuth congratulated Hui on the bracelet win.

She also made a final table finish in the WSOP Event #53: $1.5k NLH, adding $210,456 to her bankroll.

In 2015, Loni Hui secured her second bracelet in the $10,000 NLH National Championship event, scoring her third six-figure sum of $341,599. Two years later, in 2017, she made a 3rd-place finish in the $25,500 NLH $1 million GTD event for $348,000.

2024 has not been a big year for the two-time bracelet winner, but she made some impressive final table finishes, which include winning the Ladies Event at the Money Maker  Poker Tour in May. She also scored a six-figure score of $103,000 in the $5,300 NLH SHRPO Championship with a 7th-place finish. She also competed in the WSOP 2024 and cashed over 10 events. Most recently, she made headlines for finishing 7th for $ 103,000 in the $5,300 No Limit Hold’em – SHRPO Championship Event, which was ultimately won by Paul Snead for $529,428.

In her 12-year-old poker career, she has amassed an impressive $3,929,914 in live tournament earnings, with the majority of her earnings coming from the World Series of Poker.

She has over 121 WSOP cashes with $2,193,181 in earnings, with 5 circuit rings and two bracelets, making her one of the most successful female poker players.
