In 2019, Susan Faber claimed her first gold bracelet at the 50th Annual World Series of Poker. Before claiming her first bracelet, Faber was trying hard to secure her first circuit ring. She even made three runner-up finishes at the WSOPC Cherokee. Faber has finally claimed her first circuit ring with her victory in Event – 5: $600 NLHE Ring Event at the ongoing WSOPC Cherokee.
Faber, a 77-year-old poker player, outlasted the controversial poker player Maurice Hawkins, who was aiming to claim his 17th World Series of Poker Circuit Ring
Event 5: $600 NLHE Ring Event draws a field of 305 entries, generating a prize pool of $157,075, shared among the top 46 finishers. Susan Faber and Maurice Hawkins dominated the tournament with years of experience. Here is the final table recap.

The massive 305 field was narrowed down to 46 by the end of the first day. The final day begins with 46 players fighting to win the 1st place prize and a seat in the WSOP Tournament of Champions. In the end, only 9 players remained to kick off the final table.
The final 9 players battled at the final table for about three hours before Faber and Hawkins went head-to-head. Faber held a slight lead going into a heads-up battle, but the Circuit ring veteran Hawkins managed to close down the chip gap multiple times.
The bracelet winner ultimately outlasted the 16-time ring winner to win her first circuit ring and a top prize of $33,493.
Runner-up Maurice Hawkins ended up taking $22,329 for his deep run. Hawkins missed out on claiming his 17th Circuit Ring. Hawkins currently ranks in 2nd place among ring winners, behind three-time bracelet winner and 17-time Circuit ring winner Ari Engel.
With this victory, Susan Faber has now confirmed her seat in the 2025 invitation-only “Tournament of Champions.”
Other Winners Crowned at 2024 WSOP Circuit Cherokee So Far
The Harrah’s Cherokee stop includes 20 ring events and will run until August 12, with the $1,700 buy-in Main Event scheduled to begin August 10. Six players have already captured a gold ring in North Carolina, including Russell Brooks who overcame 600 entrants to win Event #1: $600 No-Limit Hold’em Opener for $34,713. The second ring of the series went to Dane Cass who massive field of 2,936 in Event #2: No Limit Holdem Mini Main Event, claiming an impressive $110,723 in top prize.
Event #3: $400 No-Limit Hold’em drew an impressive 677 entries and found a winner in Donald Levine who took home $38,381. The fourth ring was awarded in Event #4: $400 Seniors Event, which was finally won by Jack Rose who overcame a field of 1,063 to claim his first ring and $54,611.
Event #6: $400 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-or-Better crowned a winner in Warren Sheaves who bested a field of 347 entries to claim the $23,488 top prize. Chris Conrad emerged victorious from a field of 822 entrants in Event #7: $400 6-Max No Limit Holdem, capturing his eighth ring and $44,287 in top prize.
