Jianting Cai Triumphs Red Dragon Championship
The KRW 2 million (~$1,435) buy-in Red Dragon Championship saw an impressive field of 642 entrants across four starting flights, which resulted in a prize pool of KRW 1,380,000,000 (~$990,995). As the field dwindled, only the top 119 players shared the prize pool.
The final table played out on Day 4 to crown a champion. Cai led the table and held his momentum throughout the table. He knocked out Chi Jen Chen and Ye Li in 4th and 5th places, respectively, to take a massive lead in the three-handed play.
Zehao Li started the heads-up duel after eliminating Vietnam’s Ngoc Ha Nguyen in the third place. Despite the elimination, he was nowhere near his countryman Cai, who had a three-to-one chip advantage. Cai quickly locked up the prize money and trophy after cracking the pocket kings of Li with his trip sixes. Zehao Li earned an impressive KRW 162,150,000 (~$116,040) for his runner-up finish.
