Event #8 drew 597 entries, generating a total prize pool of $792,518, distributed among the top 90 finishers. Heading into Day 3, only 14 players remained. Benny Glaser led the field with over 3 million in chips, eyeing his sixth bracelet as the clear favorite.

The final table was set soon after the day’s start. Stephen O’Dwyer was the first casualty of the final table, he was eliminated in 6th place, earning $22,673. Scott Jacewiczokelly was next to hit the rail in 5th place. He was eliminated in No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw after calling off his tournament life against Glaser. He pocketed $31,747 for his impressive run. Glaser continued his dominance by knocking out bracelet winner Scott Bohlman in 4th place, earning Bohlman $45,551.

Three-handed action between Matthew Schreiber, Andrew Park, and Glaser lasted quite some time, with momentum shifting several times.  Eventually, it was Andrew Park who fell in 3rd place, during a No-Limit Hold’em hand. Park shoved with Q♥-10♥, and Schreiber called with pocket sixes. The board bricked out, sending Park to the rail with a $66,755 payout.

Heads-Up Showdown

Glaser entered heads-up play against Schreiber with a slight chip lead. The two battled intensely, exchanging the lead several times. However, during the Limit Hold’em round, Glaser began to pull away and built a commanding lead.

Schreiber was eventually reduced to just 1 big blind. Although he managed a double-up, his comeback was short-lived. The final hand came in No-Limit Hold’em. Schreiber shoved with 9♥-8♦, and Glaser quickly called with A♣-9♦. The board ran out 6♦-5♠-2♦-J♥-10♠, sealing Glaser’s victory and eliminating Schreiber in 2nd place for $100,137.
