WSOP 2024: Peter Park secures his first bracelet in Super Turbo Bounty

After 16 hours of intense action, Peter Park emerged victorious in Event #51: $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold’em at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2024. He defeated Mark Dube in the heads-up match to capture his first WSOP bracelet and the top prize of $240,724. 

The $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty event drew a field of 2,110 participants, building a massive guaranteed prize pool of $2,816,850 million, which got distributed among the top 315 finishers. 

Many notable names participated in this event, including Koray Aldemir, Ryan Leng, Joe Cada, Adam Hendrix, and Jesse Lonis. However, as the Turbo structure transformed the event into a shove fest, they were quickly exited. Here is a recap of what happened at the final table of the $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty event.

The final table that began with Qing Liu in lead. Despite starting with a small chip stack, Peter Park managed to double up through multiple hands at the final table.

Joe Kuether (9th place – $22,326), and Julio Novo (8th place – $28,683), were the first two players to be eliminated at the final table. Park and Mark Dube dominated the final table and eliminated several players. Park sent out Zhigang Yang (7th place – $37,264), after Yang’s K-J suited was unable to beat Park’s pocket aces. 

Jose Rodriguez went all-in with A-J, but unfortunately, Park had him covered with pocket aces. Jose Rodriguez was eliminated in 6th place, earning $48,899.

Short-stacked player Jungyang Lin moved all-in with 5-6 against Dube’s A-J. Lin’s hand couldn’t improve at the board, sending him out in 5th place for $64,828.

Qing Liu, who entered the final table as the chip lead, lost a substantial amount of chips against Dube. He was short-stacked, and in the later hand, he went all-in with A-2, against Dube’s A-5. The board came out 5-Q-6-3-2, and Dube’s 5 won the hand. Liu was eliminated in 4th place, earning $86,821.

Dube took over the chip lead against Adria Diaz and Park. Diaz went all-in with A-K against Dube’s A-J. The board came out 5-Q-8-J-9, giving Dube a top pair. Adria Diaz was eliminated in 3rd place and took $117,451 for his impressive performance.

Dube entered the heads-up battle as the chip leader, but he went all-in against Park and lost a massive amount of chip stack. In the final hand of the tournament, Dube went all-in with Q-4 suited, and Park called it with A-3. The board ran down 8-8-6-6-3, eliminating Dube in 2nd place.With his latest victory, Park took home a career best $240,724, taking his live earnings to $578,530
