The 2024 U Series of Poker (USOP) Grand Finale at the Grand Ballroom of the Pullman Grand Hotel running full steam. The 13-day festival boasting VND 100 Billion (~$4 Million) prize pool guarantee across 69 tournaments has crowned more than a dozen winners so far across its first five day run. Fresh off their power-packed performances at the Poker Dream 13 in Malaysia APT Phu Quoc, Indians players are making a strong impact with already more than a dozen of cashes finishes, including six final table finishes. Most recently in the series, it was WSOP bracelet winner Kartik Ved who shone for India, scoring a remarkable final table finish in the Mini High Roller Event.
Kartik Ved Finishes 4th In The Mini High Roller Of USOP Grand Finale Hai Phong
One of the most recent events to conclude at the 2024 U Series of Poker (USOP) Grand Finale was the Mini High Roller Event, which drew 42 entries, crushing its VND 500,000,000 guarantee and generating VND 1,015,200,000 in the final prize pool.
In the end, the lion’s share of the prize pool went to China’s Shanhe Su who outlasted the star-studded final table and eventually overcame China’s Zhang Xun (runner-up for VND 25,000,000) in heads-up to take home VND 370,000,000 ($14,582) in the prize pool. Trung Chien Nguyen rounded out the podium finishing third for VND 140,000,000.
From India, Kartik Ved was the only Indian to make it to the final table in this event and he did pretty well, scoring a remarkable fourth-place finish worth VND 98,200,000 ($3,870). This was the second final table finish in the series for Ved, who earlier made a deep run in the High Roller: Weekend Single Day, earning VND 145,000,000 ($5,72) for his finish.
Ved also made a splash in the VND20 Million Mini Main Event. He ended Day 1A of the event with the chip lead and was one of the strong contenders for the title going to Day 2. Unfortunately for him, his run ended in 33rd for VND 92,000,000 ($3,620). The event is currently down to six players and apart from Ved, several other Indians have scored cash finishes, including WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Shushant, who finished deepest among Indians finishing in 10th place for VND 241,000,000 ($9,480)
Siddharth Karia (14th for VND 181,000,000 -$7,120), Ritwik Khanna (45th for VND 72,500,000 -$2,850), Harsh Bubna (62nd for VND 57,500,000 – $2,260), Amit Kaushik (127th for 37,000,000 – $1,455), and Ashish Munot (141st for 35,000,000-$1,375) were the other Indian players to cash in the mini main event.

Kunal Patni Shines With Multiple Final Table Scores
Continuing his hot streak from APT Phu Quoc where he scored two victories and several final table finishes, Natural8 India director Kunal Patni is now making waves at the USOP Grand Finale. He kicked off his campaign in style by notching up a third place finish for VND 130,000,000 ($5,129) in Event #7: VND22 Million Mini High Roller, which was eventually won by Vietnam’s Hoang Nguyen for VND 320,000,000 ($12,625).

Patni then followed up that score with an impressive fourth-place finish in the Event #17: VND 66 Million High Roller 6-Max yesterday, claiming VND 505,000,000 ($19,925). The event was eventually won by Hong Kong’s Hon Cheong Lee who overcame a field of 105 entries and banked VND 1,540,000,000($60,763) for his grand victory.

Other Indian Cash Finishes at USOP Grand Finale
Apart from Patni and Kartik, several other Indians have made their mark in the ongoing series. Rising star Ritwik Khanna made the deepest run among Indians in the record-breaking Madness Kickoff, finishing 37th for VND 57 Million ($2,248).
PokerStars India Ambassador Siddharth Karia finished 67th in the Madness Kickoff for VND 40.50 Million ($ 1,597), 15th in the High Roller: Weekend Single Day for VND 100 million ($ 3,945) and 27th in Event #10: Sunday Superstack, adding VND 26 Million ($ 1,026) to his earnings. Most recently, he cashed the mini main event, finishing (14th for VND 181,000,000 -$7,120), marking his fourth cash of the series. Event #11: VN₫ 120 Million Superstar Challenge saw India’s Ashish Munot finish a respectable 17th for an impressive VND 210 Million ($ 8,286).
Adding to India’s success in the series, Deepankur Gupta scored a deep run in Event #18: VND 7 Million Freezeout. Gupta navigated a tough field to reach the final table, ultimately finishing eighth for VND 22 Million ($ 868).
