American pro Ben Tollerene and Estonia’s Vladimir Korzinin are the latest champions crowned at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Poker Series at the Sporting Club Monte Carlo.
The first of the two big winners of the series was Estonia’s Vladimir Korzinin, a white-bearded high-stakes newcomer, who started his career only one year ago and got his first live cash with a third-place finish in the Mystery Bounty at European Poker Tour (EPT) Cyprus last month.
Just days earlier, he made his Triton poker debut, finishing runner-up to Poker Hall of Fame inductee Patrik Antonius in Event# 8 – $200K Triton Invitational for $3.4 million. He continued his hot run and won Event #12 – $150K NLH 8-Handed, claiming his second seven-figure score and first Triton title. The latest win marked his career high-score and took his live earnings to $7,896,800.

Korzinin overcame a star-studded field of 122 runners in the $150K No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed event and outlasted a tough final table featuring the likes of Stephen Chidwick, Fedor Holz and Bryn Kenney, who earlier in the series made history as the first player to cross $70 million in live earnings by shipping the $125,000 Main Event.
Korzinin battled it out in the heads-up against Finnish poker player Ossi Ketola, another newcomer to poker. Korzinin’s strategic play made him an instant favorite among viewers of the Triton stream and he eventually took it down. On the final hand, they got all their chips in on the turn of the Q♠ J♣ T♠ 7♣ board. Ketola held top pair with Q♣ 6♥, while Korzinin had a ten pair and a flush draw with T♣ 6♣. The 9♣ fell on the river sealing the win for Korzinin and ending Ketola’s run in second place.
The $150K No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed ran from November 11-13 and drew a total of 122 entries for a prize pool of $18,150,000, which was finally shared by the top 20 players. Some notables to finish in the money were Malaysia’s Paul Phua (10th for $363,000),Mikita Badziakouski of Belarus (12th for $318,000), China’s Ren Lin (13th for $318,000), & the $50K NLH 7-Handed winner Jesse Lonis (14th for $290,500)

Ben Tollerene Clinches PLO Title At Triton Super High Roller Poker Series
Following his seventh place finish in Event 7: $30K – NLH Bounty Quattro last week, the American poker pro Ben Tollerene finally secured the first victory of the series by taking down Event 13: $50K – PLO 6-Handed for $1,070,000 – his second biggest score of the year after the $ 3,537,135 for the runner-up finish in the WSOP 2024 Super High Roller.
This marked his second Triton title and third live title of 2024, following his PGT title victories coming in October and September this year. “It’s great, I was having a terrible trip. A couple of bubbles. I was just excited to play a different game, play some PLO,” said the elated Tollerene to reporters after his first Triton victory.

Tollerene started the final table second in chips and busted Mads Amot in sixth place to grow his advantage. Joni Jouhkimainen, who started the final table as chip leader, was Tollerene’s next victim. He fell in fifth place, cashing for $217,000.
Tollerene continued his domination and took out Zhou Quan and finally Michael Duek in the heads-up. On the final hand, Duek opened with Ac9h7h3c and Tollerene called with KdQd6s4d. Tollerene check-raised all in on the 2d4cQc flop. Duek called with his flush draw but failed to hit the flush, leaving the title for Tollerene
This was a two-day event drawing 84 entries and generating $4,100,000 in prize pool. The top 14 players cashed the tournament, including WSOP bracelet winner Jason Koon (11th for $87,000), and India’s two-time WSOP bracelet winner Santhosh Suvarna, who exited in 10th place, earning $87,000 – his second cash of the series.
