In August 2024, there will be a wide variety of poker tournaments happening, mainly in Asia. While this month isn’t very jam-packed with tournaments happening in every Asian country, we have found the top 3 upcoming poker events, which have a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million or more.

Top 3 Upcoming Poker Tournaments in Asia in August 2024
APL Millions 2024 – August 9 – 26 2024
The 2024 APL Million is scheduled for August 9 to 26, 2024, with 83 live events. The event’s buy-ins will range from $80 to $5,000, with the festival prize pool exceeding AUD 10,000,000 (~$6,700,000). Out of the total prize pool, AUD 3,000,000 (~$2,010,000) is reserved for the AUD 1,500 (~$1,005) buy-in APL Gold Coast Main Event.
The previous festival’s main event drew a field of 2,496 entries, generating a prize pool of AUD 3,244,800 (~$2,091,571), which was split among the top 276 finishers.
Poker Dream 11 Malaysia – August 1 – 12 2024
Poker Dream is all set to return to Malaysia after the success of Poker Dream 9 Malaysia. The main event of Poker Dream 9 attracted a record field of 2,096, doubling the guaranteed prize pool to MYR 10,767,152 (~$2,268,000). Poker Dream 11 Malaysia will be held from August 1 to 12 at Genting Highlands, Malaysia.
It will feature 40 live events, highlighted by the MYR 5,000,000 (~$1 million) GTD Main Event. It has already kicked off Day 1 with the Freeroll event and Short Deck Ante Event. The main event will begin on August 6, and the starting flights will end on August 10, with the remaining players moving to Day 2 on August 11. The final day will commence on August 12, with one player being crowned as the winner.
WPT Prime Taiwan – August 6 – 19 2024
WPT has recently concluded its Cambodia tour and is currently eying to end its Asia tour in Taiwan with a 14-day festival.
Taiwan will be the last stoppage of WPT before it returns to the European continent. The WPT Prime Taiwan is scheduled from August 6 to August 19, 2024, at the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei, in collaboration with the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association.
This 14-day festival will feature a variety of events, but the major highlight will be the Championship Main Event, which has a buy-in of TWD 35,000 (~$1,120) and boasts a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000.
