Women continue to shine at the ongoing Jeju Poker Festival. Following Mengling Lin’s career-defining victory in Event 7: WPT High Roller, we have another lady champion from the series in none other than the WSOP champion Shiina Okamoto from Japan. She overcame a competitive field of 72 entries in Event#25 Win the Button – Hyper Turbo NLH, claiming KRW 11,104,000 ($7,930) for his first series cash.
This marked her fourth live victory of 2024, following her victories in WSOP 2024 Ladies Championship in June, Jeju Dragon Quest at RDPT Jeju 2024 in July, and Taiwan Millions Tournament’s Single Day High Roller (Event H2) last month. Now, she is a proud WPT champion.
Sporting a buy-in of KRW 600,000 ($430, the ), the World Poker Tour (WPT) Korea Win the Button – Hyper Turbo event took place on November 20 and generated a KRW 37,714,000 ($26,970) prize pool. Since it was a turbo event, the action was fast and furious and the game finished just past midnight, with Shiina Okamoto securing the victory. The bracelet winner dominated the final rounds and claimed the title after beating China’s Jiaqi Teng in the heads-up. Teng walked away with KRW 6,990,000 ($4,994) as the runner-up. Song Wang rounded out the top three, taking home $3,380.
With the victory, the WSOP 2024 Ladies Championship winner became the second female champion in WPT Korea 2024 and we are proud of her incredible achievement and fourth title victory of 2024. She now has more than $648k in live earnings after the victory.
