Scott Allacher Wins First Ring in Council Bluffs Main Event

American poker pro Scott Allacher topped a competitive field of 259 players to capture his first World Series of Poker Circuit ring. The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Event #13: $1,700 Main Event drew 259 entrants, creating a total prize pool of $392,385. 

Only the top 24 players took a share from the six-figure sum of $392,385. Scott Allacher, the 60-year-old Omaha player, collected his first Circuit Ring with this victory and crossed $160k career winnings by collecting a career-best $83,865. This marked his second live title of 2024 at this venue, following his $240 No Limit Hold’em win in January.

Day 2 of the Main Event saw only 26 players to battle it out for the title. The action was fast and furious, with eliminations coming quickly. The final table was reached after the elimination of Ryan Ramsdell in 10th for $5,995. Scott Allacher led the final table, followed by Salvatore Termini holding the second largest stack. 

Allacher started off strong by knocking out table-short Abbas Pasha in 9th place ($7,029). Kenneth Auker was the second casualty of the final table as he busted out in 8th place ($8,545). Walter Termini fell in 7th place for $10,758. Fresh off her victory in Event #12: $400 ”Seats And Cash”, Angela Jordison soon followed, exiting in 6th for $14,007, 

Marvin Donaldson bowed out to Allacher in 5th place and collected $18,843. Josh Reichard was the next player to be eliminated in 4th place for $26,164. It didn’t take long to reach the heads-up, as Donnie Phan bowed out to the pocket deuce of Scott Allacher, who flopped a set to send Phan to the rail in 3rd place. Phan earned $37,458 for his deepr run. 

In the final hand of the tournament, Tim Garles shoved all in with Ks-5s, and Allacher quickly made the call with his 10h-10d. The board came out 4h-8c-4c-7c-9d, and Allacher’s pocket tens held up. Tim Garles finished as the runner-up and earned $55,245.
