The Red Dragon Poker Tour Jeju 2024 has made a significant splash, currently unfolding at Jeju Shinhwa World, South Korea. Running from July 26th to August 4th, 2024, the festival’s centerpiece is the main event, boasting a guaranteed prize pool of KRW 1,680,000,000 ($1.2 Million) with a buy-in of KRW 2,200,000 ($1,500). The main event commenced on July 30th and is progressing through its four starting flights, with Day 1A seeing 332 entries and 103 players advancing, led by Chen Weihang.

China’s Wang Shengyong wins Red Dragon Poker Tour KPC Baby Dragon

China’s Wang Shengyong of China triumphed in the KPC Baby Dragon event, held from July 26-28, 2024. With a buy-in of KRW 1,500,000 (~USD 1,080), the tournament attracted 512 entries, including 403 unique players, generating a prize pool of KRW 649,728,000 (~USD 469,160), which was shared by the top 78 players. Shengyong emerged victorious, claiming the KRW 132,654,000 top prize, defeating Wen Wen Chen and Jiahao Chen, who finished in second and third place, respectively.

Mongolia’s Jargalsaikan Nyam-Ochir & Nadmid Sanduisuren Win Red Dragon TAG Team Event

The dynamic duo from Mongolia, Jargalsaikan Nyam-Ochir and Nadmid Sanduisuren, captured the Red Dragon TAG Team Event on July 26, 2024. This unique event, with a buy-in of KRW 1,000,000 (~USD 720), saw 15 entries (13 unique teams) and a prize pool of KRW 13,095,000 (~USD 9,460). Nyam-Ochir and Sanduisuren claimed the top prize of KRW 6,170,000, demonstrating excellent teamwork and strategy. The pair overcame strong competition from Zhang Chenxu and Yin Tao, who finished second, and Zhang Chi and Zhou Jin, who took third place.

China’s Jun Lu Wins Event #8: Single Day High Roller #1

China’s Jun Liu claimed victory in the prestigious Single Day High Roller #1 event on July 28, 2024. With a hefty buy-in of KRW 8,000,000 (~USD 5,770), the event drew 44 entries (37 unique), creating a prize pool of KRW 315,832,000 (~USD 228,050), which got distributed among the top 7 finishers. In the end, Liu took home the top prize of KRW 107,742,000, overcoming the tough competition from Chao Tan and Jianwen Hu, who finished in second and third place, respectively.

Leng Bin Wins the $720 Dragon Egg Mystery Bounty Event

The $720 buy-in Dragon Egg Mystery Bounty event attracted a total of 403 entries, creating a staggering prize pool of $166,400, along with a bounty pot worth $87,010. 

A total of 61 players returned to Day 2, with a motive to get a pay jump, as they were guaranteed a minimum payout of $980. The massive field soon fell to only 9, beginning the final table. 

Leng Bin entered the final table as the chip leader and dominated the final table with several eliminations. The final table was filled with short-stack players, and they bowed out just 30 minutes into the final table play. Leng Bin knocked out Huang Guanha (6th) and Xu Jieming (5th). 

It wasn’t very long before the final table play was down to just 4 players. Xu Guo sent out Sun Chang Liang in 4th place, starting the three-handed play. Xu Go lost his stacks against Chen Chuanshu and needed a double-up to stay alive. He soon moved all-in with his Q♦7♦, against Chen Chuanshu’s A♦10♥︎. The board card came out 9♠︎10♣︎10♦4♠︎A♥︎, giving Chuanshu a full house, sending out Xu Guo in 3rd place.

Chuanshu entered the heads-up as the chip leader, but Leng Bin quickly closed it in the first few hands. After nearly 40 minutes of the fourth and back battle, Chuanshu moved the last of his chips with J♥︎8♣︎, and Bin called the all-in with K♦Q♦. The board cards couldn’t save the inferior hand of Chuanshu. Chen Chuanshu ended his deep run with a 2nd place finish, earning $24,819. 

While Leng Bin walked away with the top prize of $35,080 and an additional Bounty prize of $9,460.

Jiacheng Pang Wins Event #13: PLO Mystery Bounty Event 

China’s Jiacheng Pang triumphed in the Pot Limit Omaha Mystery Bounty event, for the top prize of $11,161 along with the largest Bounty of $7,940. 5th place finisher Yuanjun Lu took the second largest Bounty of $5,050 along with the prize money of $2,449. 

PLO $720 buy-in Mystery Bounty Event attracted a total of 90 players, which created a prize pool of $37,230 along with a bounty pot of $19,490. The prize pool was split among the top 14 players, while the bounty pot was shared among the players with the most elimination.

Wangcheng Zhang Wins Event #15: Hyper Turbo Bounty No Limit Hold’em 

China’s Wangcheng Zhang took down the NLH $360 buy-in Hyper Turbo no-limit hold ’em event. He defeated his fellow countrymen Guanhua Huang to take a massive share of $11,307 from the prize pool and the Red Dragon trophy. 

The event drew a field of 181 entries, generating a prize pool of $43,980, with the top 28 finishers taking a share of it.
