Princess Love, a reality television star, won the Celebrity Poker Tour (CPT) Invitational II on Thursday at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas. Love shone brightest in the 73-entry field of stars, which included celebrities, professional athletes, business leaders, and content creators, to win the $20,000 first-place prize. She became the second proud champion of the celebrity event, following in the footsteps of chess grandmaster and acclaimed Twitch streamer, Qiyu Zhou, who had won the Enclave Celebrity Poker Invitational for $20k prize last year after beating Bill Pulte (runner-up for $10k) in the heads-up battle.
This was Love’s biggest career victory, according to TheHendonMob, surpassing her previous $11,629 first-place prize in a $300 No-Limit Hold’em tournament at Wynn Las Vegas in April 2023. This also marked her third-largest career score as she finished 40th in the 2023 WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas for $132,500 and 2nd in the 2023 StormX Invitational III for $80,156.
The second Celebrity Poker Tour Invitational saw several well-known NFL players Calais Campbell, Dalton Kincaid, Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen, Marqise Lee, Brandon Marshall, Will Levis, Laviska Shenault, Eric Ebron, and Aaron Jones, popular poker players Brad Owen, Ethan Yau, and Alexander Seibt, and celebrities like Princess Love, Jose Canseco, Bryce Hall, Tana Mongeau, and Perez Hilton, and defending champion Qiyu Zhou.
The tournament started with 100k chips and a 15-minute level. While there were many strong contenders in the field, all eyes were on this event’s last year champion Nemo Zhou (pictured below). And guess what? Princess Love showed her class and managed to outlast all her opponents, winning the title and becoming the second CPT champion.
With the 73-entry field down to just final ten layers, Love got it all-in pre-flop against two opponents. her jack-high needed a little luck to overpower the pair of nines that had the lead. The lady luck smiled on her and she got the backdoor flush, eliminating both opponents – Eric Ebron (10th) and Eric Hansen (9th).
The eliminations continued and eventually, the field was down to just three players who included Princess Love, Tana Mongeau and Keith Smith. Mongeau was first of the three to fall, taking a pay check for $5k. She called all-in with J-8 and was against Love’s A-K. A king landed on the flop, busting Mongeau in third place and giving an eight-to-one chip advantage to Love over Smith. On the first hand of heads-up play, Smith shoved all-in with Q-7 against the K-4 of Love. The board ran out king high, crowning Love as the Celebrity Poker Tour Invitational II champion.
