Indian poker players made a strong statement at the 2025 WPT Championship Cambodia, with Nikesh Chawla, Somashekar Kukhepally, and Arjun Agrawal securing major victories in their respective events. Nikesh Chawla Wins Event #43: $2,000 Turbo High Roller
Team India’s Nikesh Chawla led the charge, winning Event #43: the $2,000 buy-in Turbo High Roller, earning a massive payout of $58,080, and securing his maiden World Poker Tour title at the 2025 WPT Championship Cambodia. This marked Chawla’s first live poker victory since embarking on his live poker journey a year ago.
The $2,000 buy-in Turbo High Roller at the NagaWorld resort attracted 141 entries, generating a total prize pool of $253,024. Out of these, 18 players secured a share of the prize pool, with the top two finishers taking home over $50,000 each.
Colombia’s Andrews Fajardo rounded out the podium, collecting $26,441. Meanwhile, Team India’s Asish Ghosh and Nikesh Chawla battled for the title, with Chawla ultimately emerging victorious. Asish Ghosh earned $57,171 for his runner-up finish.

Somashekar Kukhepally Ships Event #42: $600 Megastack
Somashekar Kukhepally, a regular at the WPT Championship Cambodia, clinched his third career WPT Cambodia title by winning Event #42: the $600 buy-in Megastack, collecting the third-largest payout for an Indian in this series—$29,978. With this victory, Kukhepally’s total live earnings surpassed the $100K milestone.
The $600 buy-in event saw a massive turnout of 325 players, creating a total prize pool of $170,235, which was distributed among the top 41 finishers. The event was dominated by Indian players, with several pros making deep runs, including Vishal Ojha (14th), Digvijay Lamba (19th), and Arun Sriram (29th). Nishant Kumar secured 6th place for a $6,750 payout, while Harsh Bubna finished 4th, earning $19,258.
Dinesh Alt claimed $20,517 for his 3rd place finish, while Sweden’s Patrika Selin finished as the runner-up, collecting $19,953.

Arjun Agrawal Wins Event #4: $1,650 Single Day Megastack Mini HR
Arjun Agrawal made a spectacular debut in live poker, securing his first tournament victory by winning the $1,650 Single Day Megastack Mini High Roller. He earned the second-largest payout for an Indian player at the 2025 WPT Cambodia—$33,524.
The $1,650 buy-in Mini High Roller event drew 64 entries, generating a prize pool of $93,120. Out of these, the top 8 finishers took home a share of the prize pool. Ukraine’s Renat Bohdanov secured a 3rd place finish, earning $12,338, while Dutch player Tom Verbruggen finished in 2nd place, collecting $19,695.
