Celebrities playing in PokerStars‘s Big Game on Tour is nothing new. Several Hollywood celebrities competed against the loose cannon in the Big Game on Tour, with one of them even eliminating a loose cannon this season and leaving the table with the most profit. In the latest addition to the Big Game on Tour show, four-time Super Bowl champion Rob ‘Gronk’ Gronkowski is gearing up to go against a loose cannon.

Rob Gronk is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time in American Football. The player has four Super Bowl Championships while playing with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, he retired from football in 2022.

The player has appeared in several shows playing himself, including animated sitcom series The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Entourage, as well as appearing in reality shows like The Masked Singer, Shark Tank, and WWE’s WrestleMania. It might be the first time for Gronk to appear on a poker show.

On the announcement, Gronk said, “I’m always up for a challenge, and diving into the world of poker is going to be an amazing new adventure.”

Just like the other episodes featured two non-professional poker players, the upcoming episodes will also feature two non-professional poker players, one being Rob Gronk, while the other one is sportscaster Nick Wright. Unlike Gronk, Nick Wright has experience of appearing in poker shows. He competed in shows like No Gamble, No Future, and Poker After Dark.

Who will be the new ‘Loose Cannon’?

Loose Cannons are the heart of the Big Game on Tour, while PokerStars hasn’t revealed the new Loose Cannons, which we will get to know by the end of November.

The loose cannons are qualified through several rounds of tournament and audition process. As per reports, the loose cannons audition is reportedly going to happen during the North American Poker Tour (November 5 – 10).

FanDuel Daily Fantasy Sports, a partnered brand of PokerStars, is currently hosting contests. In which the winners will receive NAPT Gold Passes worth $10,000, and also get them to the loose cannon selection process.

The chosen players will then go through a three-stage selection process. In the first stage, players compete in a tournament and have to win their table to advance to the next round. The last two stages are the audition round, where they have to show why they are best to appear on the show.
