Here’s a recap:
Stephen Song Wins NAPT $25K NAPT Super High Roller
Stephen Song won the $25k Super High Roller event at the North American Poker Tour (NAPT), earning an impressive payday of $439,400. Song recently became the Main Event Champion of the European Poker Tour Barcelona, where he took home $1,425,651. This win pushes his career earnings past $8.5 million, ranking him 5th in the Global Poker Index.
The $25k buy-in event attracted 60 players who gathered at Resorts World Las Vegas, generating a prize pool of $1,440,600. Due to the small field, only the top 8 players cashed, with the top 5 winning more than $100k.
The final table was reached on Day 2, but it took another day to crown the winner. Song held a commanding chip lead going into the final day with three other players remaining. He eliminated three-time bracelet winner James Collopy in 4th place and knocked out Edward Sebesta in 3rd, setting up the heads-up match.
The final showdown between Sean Winter and Stephen Song lasted nearly three hours, with Winter repeatedly evening the chip stacks and even taking the lead at times. However, Song regained control, ultimately claiming the trophy. In the final hand, Song moved all-in with Ac-9c, and Winter called with Qh-5h. The board came 10d-Ad-9c-7c-Jc, and Song’s ace-nine connected with the board, ending Winter’s impressive run in 2nd place for $288,100.
