Former poker pro Michal Schuh scored his first bracelet in the 2024 WSOP Europe after playing his last poker tournament in 2015. Germany’s Dennis Weiss topped a 141-player field, which included several WSOP pros, to take home his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet. In this report, we will recap Events #5 and #6 of the 2024 WSOP Europe, along with the victory of Michael Estes in the WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Hammond Main Event.
Michal Schuh Wins the 2024 WSOP Europe Event #5: €550 NLHE Colossus
Michal Schuh, once a poker pro and now competing as a recreational player, secured his first World Series of Poker Bracelet in the 2024 WSOP Europe Event #5: €550 NLHE Colossus for a career-best score of €171,350
Event #5 drew a gigantic field of 2,799 entries, generating a total prize pool of €1,500,000. The top 317 players took home a share of the prize pool, while the top two finishers each earned six-figure sums. The final table, formed on Day 3, featured players from eight different countries. Schuh entered the final table with the second-largest chip stack, while Georgios Tsouloftas held the chip lead.
In the heads-up battle, Schuh held a 4:3 chip lead over Eric Van Hulst. However, Van Hulst briefly took the lead when his Kh-Js bested Schuh’s Ah-10c. The two exchanged the chip lead multiple times in a back-and-forth battle.
After an hour of heads-up play, the final hand arrived. Van Hulst shoved with Kc-4h, and Schuh quickly called with Ac-Jd. The board ran out Ad-7d-As-3d-9c, sealing the victory and the bracelet for Schuh, while Van Hulst settled for the runner-up prize of €117,350.
According to Hendon Mob, Schuh competed in his first live poker tournament in 2011 and played his last tournament in 2015. With this victory, Schuh now has over $180,000 in live career earnings.

Dennis Weiss Clinches Victory in 2024 WSOP Europe Event #6: €5,000 PLO
Event #6 of the 2024 WSOP Europe saw a field of 141 players gather at King’s Resort in Rozvadov. The event generated a prize pool of €629,565, shared among the top 22 finishers.
The €5,000 Pot Limit Omaha event attracted several previous bracelet winners, all eager to add another title to their collection. However, a new name was etched into the bracelet winner list, as Germany’s Dennis Weiss claimed his first WSOP bracelet and the top prize of €159,897.
Thirty-eight players returned for Day 2, all vying for the top prize and the coveted bracelet. Weiss entered the final table as the chip leader and maintained his advantage, holding a 2:1 chip lead over Amir Mozaffarian in heads-up play.
The final hand saw Mozaffarian move all-in on a Ks-10h-8c flop with Jc-8s-5s-2c. Weiss quickly called, showing Ac-10s-9s-5h. The As on the turn and 3d on the river gave Weiss two pairs, securing the win. Mozaffarian earned €103,092 for his runner-up finish, while Weiss walked away with €159,897 and a WSOP bracelet.

Michael Estes Wins WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Hammond Main Event
In November 2023, Michael Estes captured his first WSOP Circuit ring. Fast-forward to the present and Estes has now secured his second Circuit ring at the WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Hammond Main Event. Estes defeated Grant Keller in the heads-up play to claim the top prize of $198,576 and his second career ring.
The $1,700 buy-in no-limit hold’em WSOP Circuit Main Event saw 746 entrants, generating a total prize pool of $1,130,190. The top 110 finishers took home a share of the seven-figure prize pool. The final day began with six players remaining, with Michael Green holding the chip lead.
Three-handed play between Christopher Magruder, Grant Keller, and Michael Estes lasted over an hour before Estes knocked out Magruder in third place ($91,159). Estes entered heads-up play as the chip leader and held that lead through to the final hand. Keller moved all-in holding pocket fours on a Q-10-2-J-2 board, only to see Estes’ Q-7.
Keller finished in second place with a career-best score of $132,386, while Estes walked away with his second gold ring and a top prize of $198,576.
