Italian poker pro Mario Perati has won the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Sanremo €1,000 Main Event, claiming his third WSOPC ring and an impressive €123,140* in prize money. Perati won his first ring in a WSOP-C Heads-up tournament in 2018, and his second ring at King’s Rozvadov in 2019.

A total of 1,050 players gathered inside the Casinò Sanremo, all vying for the coveted Main Event ring. The strong turnout resulted in a prize pool of €888,300, which was paid out to 159 players. Twenty-four players returned on the final day and the final table was reached quickly due to fast play and quick eliminations in between. As the dust settled, Perati emerged victorious. Here is a quick recap of his victory in the WSOP C Sanremo Main Event.

2024 WSOP-C Sanremo €1,000 Main Event Final Table Recap

Francesco Di Domenico led the pack, holding a massive chip advantage against the other eight players. Perati held a middling stack but soon chipped up. Pablo De Heredia was the first elimination from the final table, falling in 9th place (€11,445). Alex Sampirisi, who entered the final table as a short stack, knocked out Day 1C chip leader Jean-Marc Chiba in 8th place (€14,705). Francesco Delfoco in 7th (€19,180), and Xavier Zuczkowski in 6th (€25,400)  were the next eliminations from the final table.

After that, it took three hours for the next bustout. During this time, Perati took the lead from Di Domenico and ended Sampirisi’s dominating run, sending him out in 5th place for €34,140. Di Domenico soon found himself in the danger zone with just two big blinds and went all in holding A♦-5♥. Hervé Gouzil called with K♣-5♠, and Perati called, tabling his pocket threes. The dry board favored Perati’s pocket threes, eliminating Di Domenico in 4th place for €46,070.

Gouzil then sent Matteo Sbrana to the rail in 3rd place, setting up the heads-up battle. Both players held nearly even stacks and agreed to a deal, awarding €100,000* to the runner-up and €123,140* to the winner.

The heads-up showdown did not last long, with Perati taking the lead after a few hands. He soon jammed Gouzil in a post-flop action, and Gouzil called. Gouzil revealed K♠-10♣ against Perati’s 9♥-8♦. The board K♦-6♣-7♥-10♥-9♦ gave Perati a straight, crowning him the champion. Gouzil took second place, earning €100,000 in prize money.
