Born on July 18, 1984, Liv Boeree is a multifaceted British personality with her expertise in science communication, television presenting, and professional poker. A well-known host of the Win-Win Podcast, she is one of the best female poker players with an impressive $3,871,790 in live tournament earnings throughout her career. A former PokerStars Ambassador, Boeree recently made a return to the live poker scene, participating in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP). She cashed in the $5,000 NLH 8-Handed event (Bracelet Event #87), finishing in 153rd place and earning $9,952.

Boeree has won several prestigious live titles, including the the 2017 WSOP $10,000 Tag Team Event for $136,982, and the 2010 European Poker Tour Main Event where she overcame a star-studded field of 1,240 entries, winning $ 1,698,300 – her career-best score. Notably, she is the only woman in history to have won both European Poker Tour (EPT) titles and a WSOP bracelet.

Although she is not active on the professional poker circuit, she does compete in select events like the WSOP, choosing her appearances thoughtfully. Despite stepping back from full-time poker, the 2008 European Ladies Championship winner and the 2017 Poker After Dark champion continues to engage with the fans through her posts on social media platforms.

Recently, she used her Twitter handle to alert her followers to a dangerous crypto scam. In her recent post on X (formerly Twitter), she wrote: “Be careful folks – there’s an incredibly convincing crypto scam happening on Youtube right now on an imposter channel pretending to be @SpaceX. The account is doing a ‘livestream’ of the launch, which is a highly produced and pretty convincing deepfake of Elon encouraging people to open a QR code. Currently has 70k viewers”

Boeree, who hosted a TED Talk in 2018 on the ways to improve every day decision making, also shared side-by-side comparisons of the fraudulent and real SpaceX channels, highlighting their uncanny similarities, including fake playlists mimicking genuine SpaceX content. The recent post from Boeree hints at the growing online scams and the risks associated with deepfake technology.

While Liv Boeree’s participation in the poker world is minimal, she still remains an influential and a credible voice in the online community. Her recent post is meant to raise awareness about digital scams. It showcases her commitment to educating and protecting her audience, even beyond the poker table. Keep following PokerProNews for more such eye-opening updates on digital scams.
