Over the last couple of days, we have witnessed several massive victories in the live poker scene. In this report, we will recap the high-roller poker winners: Lautaro Guerra and Piotr Sztenkiel.
Lautaro Guerra showed his PLO skills at the World Series of Poker Paradise, winning the Pot-Limit Omaha Super High Roller. On the other hand, Poland’s Piotr Sztenkiel clinches his maiden PokerStars Shard trophy at the EPT Prague’s Eureka High Roller.
Lautaro Guerra Wins WSOP Paradise PLO Super High Roller
Lautaro Guerra, a renowned high-stakes pot-limit Omaha player, cemented his reputation as a PLO specialist by winning Event #3: $100k buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha Super High Roller at the World Series of Poker Paradise. For his victory, he banked his first-ever seven-figure and a career-high payout of $2,126,770 alongside the coveted WSOP gold bracelet. He now has taken his poker earnings to nearly $5 million.
The $100k buy-in PLO Super High Roller registered 88 entrants, creating a total prize pool of $8,800,000. From the 88 entrants, only 13 players took home a share from the $8.8 million prize pool, with the top 3 finishers collecting over a million.
This High-stake event attracted some notable pros and bracelet winners, who fell short of the prestigious title such as five-time bracelet winner Nick Schulman (13th), Issac Haxton (12th), six-time bracelet winner Jeremy Ausmus (9th), Poker Hall of Famer Patrik Antonius (7th), and Jason Koon (5th).
Jared Bleznick, fresh off from his $50k High Roller victory at the WSOP 2024 this summer, made it to the podium, finishing 3rd to cash a seven-figure score of $1,170,360. Day 3 of the tournament kicked off with the heads-up between Guerra and another PLO specialist, Ben Tollerene. Tollerene held a slightly bigger stack in the heads-up. However, Guerra quickly doubled up, leaving Tollerene with less than three big blinds.
Tollerene soon went all in with a straight and flush draw hand, only to be beaten by the pocket sixes of Guerra. The brickboard favoured the pocket pair of Guerra, eliminating Tollerene in second place. Tollerene locked up $1,577,660 for his impressive finish in the tournament.
