Martin Zamani GPI Player of the Month For August

The two-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner has added another achievement to his career by receiving the prestigious GPI Player of the Month honor. Zamani holds the first position while Chinese player Ren Lin holds the second place. Zamani had an incredible run in August 2024, with cash and final table finishes in the European Poker Tour and Seminole Hard Rock Open Series.

Zamani began his August Month with a 6th place finish in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO) Event #7: $2,200 DeepStack NLH and booked $19,500. He went on to finish in 14th place in SHRPO’s Championship Event and DeepStack 8 Handed, adding $68,000 to his career earnings.

His most significant deep run came in the 2024 European Poker Tour. As PokerStars celebrated its 20th Anniversary, it hosted several star-studded poker tournaments, and Martin Zamani also competed in them.

Martin Zamani participated in the 2024 EPT Barcelona Event #9: €12,300 NLH PokerStars Cuatro Knockout, where he competed against Sam Grafton, Erik Seidel, Ottomar Ladva, Santhosh Suvarna, Steve O’Dwyer, and other top players. Despite the star-studded field, he made it to the final table and finished in 8th place for $24,025.

The bracelet winner then took part in the Estrellas Poker Tour €1,100 Main Event. Not only did he compete in it, but he also cleared half of the final table with 4 eliminations. Unfortunately, his deep run ended after he got busted in 3rd place and collected a six-figure sum of $518,559.

2024 EPT Participants Among the Top 10 Player of the Month List

Martin Zamani is not the only 2024 European Poker Tour participant to be on the top 10 list. Half of the people in the GPI Player of the Month players participated in the 2024 European Poker Tour.

The second place holder Ren Lin cashed in three EPT Events, earning over $150k, along with one runner-up finish in Event #5: €10,200 Mystery Bounty event for $79,700, and a 5th place finish in the €10,200 NLH 6 Handed event, and earned $30,991.

4th place holder Kayhan Roshanfekr hit it out of the park with two EPT Events wins in August 2024, banking over $1.7 million to his earnings. The Norway Player won Event #22: €100,000 NLH Super High Roller for a career-high score of $1,519,071, and he also emerged victorious in the EPT Event #12: €20,000 NLH for $290,068.

Sam Greenwood holds the 7th place on the list for his deep run in the European Poker Tour. The bracelet winner made 4 final table finishes out of 5 events he cashed in. His significant deep run came in Event #12: €20,000 NLH, where he exited as the runner-up for $284,912.

The last EPT Participant in the list is 2015 GPI Player of the Year winner Byron Kaverman, who made two final table finishes and won Event #14: €25,000 NLH for $425,709.
