Spain’s Sergio Martinez is the latest champion at the 2025 Triton Poker SHRS Jeju. The series is currently underway at the Landing Casino Jeju and has already paid out over $30 million in total prize money. Event #16 turned out to be the biggest PLO buy-in event ever hosted by Triton or any other operator.

The Spaniard has been playing poker since 2017 and has been a regular in the live poker scene for the past two years. Martinez’s life-changing cash came in 2023 when he finished 2nd in the 54th WSOP $25K PLO, earning a staggering $1,418,270. It took him a year to surpass that WSOP cash, but he did it in style. For his victory in Event #16 at Triton Poker, Martinez earned a career-best $2,340,000 and captured his first-ever live poker title.

The $100K buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha Main Event at Triton Poker Jeju was the biggest PLO event ever, attracting 91 entries and generating a massive $9,100,000 prize pool. The top 15 finishers took home a share of the prize money, with the top 3 securing seven-figure payouts.

Final Table

The final table kicked off with Sergio Martinez leading the chip counts with over 100 big blinds, followed by Ding Biao. The final lineup was stacked with Chinese pros, with only three Europeans making it to the last stage.

The first player eliminated at the final table was the 2025 Triton Poker Jeju Main Event Champion, Huang Wenjie. He battled against chip leader Martinez but lost his stack, finishing in 7th place for $423,000.

Mads Amot followed Wenjie, exiting in 6th place for $536,000. Netherlands’ Tom Vogelsang was next to go, busting in 5th place after running into Martinez’s straight. Vogelsang secured an impressive $686,000 for his deep run. Zhikang Dai was eliminated in 4th place for $854,000, setting the stage for three-handed play.

Lin Wei, who started the final table as the short stack, played top-notch poker and eventually rounded out the podium, collecting $1,055,000 for a 3rd-place finish.

Heads-Up

Martinez entered heads-up play with 20 big blinds, facing Ding Biao, who had 56 big blinds. The Spanish pro quickly turned the tide, doubling up to even the chip stacks. While Biao continued winning small pots, Martinez went on an incredible run, winning five consecutive hands to put Biao in the danger zone.

With only 3 big blinds remaining, Biao shoved with As-Ks-Kc-Jd, but Martinez called with Kd-5c-4h-5s. The board ran out in Martinez’s favor, giving him a pair of fives to seal the victory. Biao had to settle for 2nd place, earning $1,610,000. On the other hand, Sergio Martinez, for his victory, earned a career-high $2,340,000, his first live poker title, and a Jacob&Co.
