In a historic moment for Indian poker, Gunisha Sinha has etched her name in history by becoming the first female champion of PokerBaazi’s The Circuit. Facing off against some of the country’s best players in Season 3 of the exciting league-format reality poker show, Gunisha she emerged victorious to claim the coveted title, trophy and a massive INR 25 Lakh in top prize.
With this historic triumph, Gunisha Sinha, who made waves at WSOP last year with her career-best $11K live poker finish in the Gladiators of Poker, joins the ranks of past champions Laksh Pal Singh and Jagdeep Singh, while sending a powerful message about the rising stature of women in India.
PokerBaazi The Circuit Season 3 Quick Recap
The Circuit continues to evolve, pushing the boundaries with grander moments, fiercer competition, and bigger prizes. Unfolding over 11 thrilling episodes in the vibrant city of Hanoi, Vietnam, the third season of the show featured six exciting events with a stellar lineup of India’s 16 elite players and a whopping INR 50 Lakh prize money, making it the biggest of the three seasons hosted so far.
Each event of the season saw players score points to climb the leaderboard, with the lowest scorers on the leaderboard facing elimination. Every episode of the season featured a poker sit-n-go event with leaderboard points at stake, backstage banter, interviews and strategy breakdowns, making it entertaining, insightful and unforgettable.
As the dust settled, the top 8 players qualified for the grand finale to battle it out for the title, trophy and a whopping INR 25 Lakh up top prize. The final 8 line-up featured a fine mix of veterans and first-timers, with Advait Rajguru starting strong at 500BB, followed by Thiyam Dannish at 400BB and Abhishek Jalan at 350BB. Gunisha,Gaurav Sood, Navkiran Singh, Vinay Rajpal, and Vidwath Shetty, all began their run with 250BB each.
As play progressed, only five players remained, including Thiyam Dannish, Advait Rajguru, Gaurav Sood, Abhishek Jalan and Gunisha. Jalan held the chip lead, while Gunisha was extremely short-stacked.
Despite being the shortest stack, it was Gunisha who seized the spotlight, displaying her skillful play, sharp instincts and impeccable patience to emerge victorious. Her run wasn’t just a win—it was a milestone moment for women in poker.
Jalan fought hard but could not go all the way, finishing runner-up for INR 15 Lakhs. Thiyam secured third place, earning INR 10 Lakhs for his remarkable performance.
