September has ended, and while several poker tournaments are still ongoing—such as the WSOP Europe and APT Taipei—October is shaping up to be another exciting month, with several big poker tournaments boasting $1 million + in guarantees. If you’re already at King’s Resort in Rozvadov participating in the WSOP Europe, you’ll be pleased to know that the casino will host two additional tournaments offering over $1 million in guarantees.
In this list, we’ve focused on the top six European and American/Canadian poker tournaments, which are offering a total festival guarantee of $1 million or more.
1 – World Series of Poker International Circuit – Oct 16th – Oct 29th
One week after the World Series of Poker Europe concludes, the WSOP is going to host the WSOP International Circuit at King’s Resort in Rozvadov. The 13-day festival offers a total of 12 WSOP Circuit rings and 72 tournaments in total. With €2,500,000 (~$2.6 million) in total guarantees, making it the biggest poker series in the European continent in October.
Out of the staggering €2.5 million guarantee, €1,000,000 is reserved for the €1,100 buy-in WSOP Circuit NLH Championship, which kicks off on October 25th and wraps up on October 29th. The winner will take home a gold ring and a six-figure top prize. Besides the main event, Mystery Bounty, NLH Lucky7s, Mini Main Event, and many more events that offer more than €100,000 in guarantee.
2 – WPT Playground – October 14th – 30th
The World Poker Tour is all set to return to the prestigious Playground card club for its WPT Playground. October serves as the penultimate month for WPT before the WPT World Championship in Las Vegas this December. The 18-day action pack festival offers a wide range of events with affordable buy-ins. The festival will begin on October 14th and end on October 30th with the live streaming of the WPT Playground Championship Final table.
The 2024 WPT Playground offers over CAD$3,500,000 (~$2.5 million) in total guarantees, out of which CAD$1,500,000 (~$1.1 million) is allocated to the CAD$3,500 buy-in Main Event dubbed as the WPT Playground Championship. Key highlights include the WPT 500 Playground and WPT Prime Playground, which also have a six-figure guarantee.
3 – Battle of Malta – October 29th – November 6th
Renowned as one of Europe’s most popular standalone festivals, Battle of Malta (BOM) is all set to return to its home Casino Malta at the Intercontinental Hotel from October 29th to November 6th. The poker festival boasts an impressive €2,000,000 (~$2.1 million) in total guarantees.
The massive guarantees also include the €1,500,000 (~$1.6 million) million guarantee for the Battle of Malta Main Event starting from October 30th. Battle of Malta Main Event features 8 starting flights between October 30th and November 3rd. Aside from the main event, High Roller and Mystery Bounty events also feature six-figure guarantees.
4 – WPT Bestbet Scramble 2024 – October 31st – November 19th
In collaboration with the Bestbet casino, the World Poker Tour is offering over $1.5 million in festival guarantees at the upcoming WPT Bestbet Scramble 2024. This 20-day festival will feature 14 events, including the WPT Championship Main Event, which guarantees $1 million. Additionally, the festival will include several satellite events that provide seats at the upcoming WPT World Championship, with a buy-in of just $580.
The festival kicks off on October 31st with Event #1: $400 NLH, featuring a $200,000 guarantee. Event #6: $1,700 Mystery Bounty Event boasts a $300k guarantee.
5 – IPS Italian Poker Sports – Oct 7th – Oct 14th
The crown jewel of the festival is the main event, which has a buy-in of €380 (~$400) and boasts €1 million (~$1.1 million) in guarantee. The Italian Poker Sports festival is going to kick off at the King’s Resort Rozvadov during the final days of the 2024 WSOP Europe.
The previous IPS Main Event attracted 3,847 entrants and paid out $1,380,578 to the top 386th players. Germany’s Kooresh Shafaatian won the main event and took the title and the top prize of €200,000 (~$218,990).
6 – Mid-Stakes Poker Tour FireKeepers Casino – Oct 10th – Oct 13th
MSPT’s next stop is the FireKeepers Casino, where they will host the largest MSPT event of the year with a $1 million Main Event guarantee. Not only that, they will offer a $10,400 WPT World Championship seat through the $140 satellite event.
The 3-day event will start on October 10th with the $1,100 buy-in $1 million main event. Those looking to participate in the Main Event with an affordable buy-in can take part in the $265 Turbo Satellite in which the top 5 finishers advance to the MSPT Main Event.
