Merry Christmas and good news for poker enthusiasts out there! The prestigious live poker brand of Asia, Poker Dream has finally released the schedule for the much-anticipated Poker Dream 15 Malaysia. The upcoming live poker festival takes place at the stunning Genting Highlands from January 16 to January 26, 2025, and promises intense competition and massive prizes with a hefty MYR 8,000,000 ($1,797,392) in the total guaranteed prize pool.
The crown jewel of the upcoming Poker Dream 15 will be the Main Event, which features a massive MYR 4,000,000 ($898,695) guaranteed prize pool. Set to run from January 20 to 26, the series headliner features over 14 flights between January 20 to 24, ensuring every player gets multiple opportunities to secure a spot in the event’s finale. Day 2 takes place on January 25, while the champion will be crowned on January 26.
The previous main event of the series was won by Indian poker pro Nishant Sharma, who bested a tough field and overcame Malaysia’s Chun Liu in a heads-up to win Poker Dream 13 Malaysia’s Main Event for RM 930,800 from a hefty RM 6,048,144 prize pool. This was his third consecutive poker dream main event win, making him the only player in history to have won three main event titles in a row.
Other Major Highlights of Poker Dream 15 Malaysia
As with previous editions, the series will feature a variety of exciting events including several Turbo Events, Mini High Roller, High Roller, Super High Roller, Mystery Bounty and Ladies Event. The action kicks off with MYR 1 million GTD Malaysia Open on January 16 and continues with MYR 1 Million GTD Mystery Bounty starting on January 20 and Super High Roller starting on January 21. Coming back to Poker Dream 15 Malaysia, all poker tournament buy-ins for the upcoming poker series will include an 8% Sales and Service Tax (SST). This change is to ensure compliance with local tax laws and make every game straightforward and transparent.
