Germany is one of the most popular countries in poker because of the number of players it has in the game. Several high-stakes poker pros hail from Germany, including two-time bracelet winner Fedor Holz, 2011 WSOP Main Event Champion Pius Heinz, WPT Main Event Champion Dominik Nitsche, and many more.

The country has a total of 80 casinos, and most of them offer poker, but they follow a strict dress code. The country legalized online gambling in 2021 after receiving criticism from the online poker community. In this report, we will delve into the top six live poker rooms in Germany.

1. Casino Schenefeld

Located inside a shopping mall, Casino Shenfeld offers card games like blackjack, as well as poker and slot machine games. It has a dedicated poker room with only four tables, close to a bar.

It hosts poker cash games weekly from Monday to Sunday, with tables opening from 8 p.m. onwards from Sunday to Thursday, and 7 p.m. onwards on Friday and Saturday. The casino also hosts weekly tournaments on Sundays and Tuesdays, with affordable buy-ins.

2. Spielbank Casino Esplanade

Founded in 1978, Casino Esplanade is one of the oldest casinos in Germany and has hosted the German Poker Tour and the German Poker Masters. The casino has more than 135 slot machines and offers 13 table games, along with 5 tables available for live poker.

Casino Esplanade is very strict about the dress code and doesn’t allow casual wear. Hence, men must wear a jacket or leisurewear. It hosts daily no-limit hold ’em cash games with €2/€4 blinds, and Pot Limit Omaha cash games only on Wednesday.

3. Spielbank Berlin – Potsdamer Platz

Spielbank Berlin operates three casinos in the capital city, with the main one being Potsdamer Platz. Along with the hotel Grand Hyatt, the casino has hosted many prestigious poker festivals, like the European Poker Tour, the World Poker Tour European Championship, and the World Series of Poker Europe.

The casino has more than 300 gaming machines and 12 table games. Spielbank Berlin has a dedicated poker room with 8 poker tables, which offers daily cash games ranging from €2/€2 to €20/€40, as well as daily poker tournaments with affordable buy-ins.

4. The Baden-Baden Casino

The Baden-Baden Casino is located inside the popular spa resort, the Kurhaus. With a 200-year rich history, the Baden-Baden Casino is well known as one of the oldest casinos in Germany.

The casino is popular for its royal theme and atmosphere; it offers 12 table games and has approximately 140 slot machines. Baden-Baden Casino also offers poker cash games from Sunday to Thursday, starting at 7 pm, with €2/€4 blinds to €5/€10 blind.

5.Merkur Casino Duisburg

Casino Duisburg is regarded as one of the most visited casinos in Germany. It offers a wide range of classic casino games like Blackjack, Roulette, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and has more than 300 slot machines.

Besides this, it has a poker room with 5 tables for cash games on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. onward. The blinds are €5/€5 with a buy-in of €200. Enthusiasts can also reserve their seats before the game starts.

6. King’s Resort Rozvadov

Situated near the border of Germany, King’s Resort Rozvadov is the best casino in Europe, which also offers poker. Despite plenty of poker rooms in Germany, 70% of German poker players prefer to play at King’s Resort rather than local.

King’s Resort Rozvadov is the mecca of poker in Europe and hosts the World Series of Poker Europe and other local tournaments with staggering guarantees. The casino offers non-stop poker action with no-limit hold ’em cash games and pot limit Omaha.

Every casino in Germany offers poker cash games in the evening, but most German players don’t prefer them due to the strict dress code.
