The 55th World Series of Poker (WSOP) is running full steam in Las Vegas. With more than 60 bracelet events already concluded, the annual poker fiesta continues to crown new champions and reward talented and deserving players with impressive cash rewards and coveted bracelets. 

WSOP 2024 began on Wednesday, 28 May 2024 and will go on for a month and a half before finally drawing its curtains on Wednesday, 17 July 2024 as per the schedule. So far the series has been a massive success with several poker players winning big from the events on schedule. Similarly, the coming days promise to be rewarding and fruitful for the players.

Among the several thousands of players grinding and achieving exceptional results at the WSOP 2024, the Indian contingent is also making their presence felt. Team India has made a strong statement at the series with five final table finishes already in its kitty.  The biggest highlight of Team India’s performance so far is Santhosh Suvarna winning Event #55: $250,000 Super High Roller for his second WSOP bracelet and a career-high $5,415,152, which is not only the highest cash at the ongoing series but also the highest score by an Indian in live tournament space. Also, his historic victory marked the first WSOP Super High Roller title for India.

The second biggest cash so far at the series belongs to India’s first online WSOP bracelet winner Kartik Ved. The Pune-based player fell just short of his second bracelet and landed at the fourth spot at Event #16: $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold’em. Kartik Ved battled through an entry field of 660 players in this event to finish fourth for a hefty paycheque of $220,373.

The third highest cash at the 2024 WSOP so far belongs to Yasheel Doddanavar. The WPT title holder reached the final table of Event #44: $2,000 No-Limit Hold’em. However, he fell just a few places shy of wining the title. He finished 6th out of an entry field of 1,561 entries at this event, taking home a hefty $79,676, the third highest score by an Indian at the WSOP 2024. 

Two Indiand final-tabled Event #44: $2,000 No-Limit Hold’em with Kavin Shah finishing 7th for $60,317, which is the fourth-highest score by an Indian at the ongoing WSOP so far. 

The WSOP 2024 Super High Roller champion Santhosh Suvarna recorded the fifth-highest cash by an Indian at WSOP 2024. India’s first and only Triton Poker and WSOPE champion finished at the 13th spot out of 272 entries in Event #21 $25,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em – High Roller – 6-Handed of the WSOP 2024. He pocketed an impressive $79,084 for his remarkable performance in the event.

 

The sixth highest cash by an Indian player at the ongoing WSOP 2024 was achieved by Paawan Bansal. The  veteran poker pro from finished 25th out of 8,703 entries in Event #38: $1,500 MONSTER STACK NLHE. He grabbed a paycheque of $46,448 for his efforts, making his finish the sixth-best in terms of the amount cashed so far by an Indian at the WSOP 2024.

Other notables cashes at the ongoing series have come from Ankit Ahuja (50th for $30,300 in Event #54: $1,500 Millionaire Maker), Kunal Patni (20th for $24,697 in Event #60: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em) and Katik Ved (7th for $19,184Online Event #4: NL Hold’em Deepstack).

The best cash by an Indian female at the WSOP 2024 so far has been achieved by Gunisha Sinha. The female pro from India finished 39th from a massive entry field of 20,647 entries in Event #20: $300 Gladiators of Poker No-Limit Hold’em making it a notable feat. Gunisha Sinha pocketed an impressive $11,090 for this finish. While several new records have been made, these records may be shattered as Indian players are likely to cash higher in the coming days.
