The 2024 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO) kicked off on July 31 and will run until August 13. This time around, the series features a whopping 102 events, including the $5,300 buy-in, $3,000,000 GTD SHRPO Championship that is slated to take place August 9-13.

The series is running full steam and more than 24 tournaments have already concluded crowning their champions. Some of the big names to capture the titles include Darryll Fish (Event #3: $600 Deep Stack Big O for $16,830), Ari Engel (Event #8: $600 Eight-Game Mix for $12,875), Phil Hui (Event #12: $600 Mixed PLO for $18,495), Javier Zarco (Event #25: $600 Deep Stack Six-Max NLH for $19,740), and Nick Yunis (Event #29: $1,100 Deep Stack Turbo NLH for $15,580). Most recently, 10-timeWSOP bracelet winner and Poker Hall of Famer Erik Seidel added his name to the list of the champions.

Seidel took down Event #26: $10,000 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em that drew 69 players for a prize pool of $655,500, which was shared by the top 9 finishers. In the end, Seidel emerged victorious and took home $179,953, following a heads-up deal with Clemen Deng who banked an equally impressive $179,247 in prize money.

The latest victory marked the third title of 2024 for the poker legend. This was also his third biggest score of 2024, following his Wynn Millions Poker Series High Roller victory for $250,000 and 8th place finish in the WSOP 2024 High Roller (Bracelet Event #92) for $213,624.

Final Table Action

The final table was reached after the elimination of the WSOP 2024 Main Event final table finisher Joe Serock, who shoved with ace-ten against Clemen Deng’s 3h 2h. Unfortunately for him, Deng made trip deuces against his flopped two pair to take down the pot and bust Serock on the money bubble.

The final table began with Nazar Buhaiov (1,295,000  -52 bb) in lead and Clemen Deng  (1,245,000  -50 bb) in second chip position. Seidel started in the middle of the pack but made the most of his long experience and skills to come from behind and win the title. With five players remaining, Clemen Deng held the chip lead with a 54 bb stack, while Seidel was the shortest stack left with just 9 bb. However, Seidel gained momentum when he doubled up through the start of the final table chip leader Nazar Buhaiov. The latter shoved pocket fours and Seidel made the call with ace-nine and hit full house to double up.

He continued his momentum and eliminated Matthew Lambrecht in fifth place, with his pocket aces dominating his opponent’s ace-king on a king-high board. The next player to fall was Marcus El-Huaick, who ran his king-ten into the ace-nine of Nazar Buhaiov and found no help from the board to exit in fourth place.

With three players remaining, Nazar Buhaiov moved all in with king-jack and Poker Hall of Famer Erik Seidel called with ace-ten. The board ran out all low cards and Seidel busted Buhaiov in third place.

Heads-up play began with Seidel holding a slight lead over Clemen Deng. The two agreed to a deal that saw them each take home $179K with Seidel being declared as the champion.
