Australia’s Ram Faravash claimed a victory in the €3,000 Mystery Bounty. The event that ran at Le Palais des Congrès as part of the PokerStars European Poker Tour Paris drew in a massive field of 997 entries. The strong turnout resulted in a hefty prize pool of €1,682,936 as well as €977,000 in bounties. The lion’s share went to Faravash who knocked out 21 players on his way to victory, claiming €298,796 in prizes and €106,500 in bounties.
Returning among the final 14 players for Day 3, Faravash began his day second in chips, behind Mustafa Al-Sayegh. The pair held onto their lead throughout the final day and were the two players left for the heads-up, which began with Faravash (16,500,000) holding a slight chip lead against Al-Sayegh (13,410,00).
While the latter was able to take the lead on the very first hand of the heads-up and won another pot to further extend his lead, Faravash pulled ahead when he won a huge flip to double up. And after a little back and forth battle, the tournament was soon over, with Faravash emerging as the outright winner. On the final hand, Mustafa Al-Sayegh moved all in from the button and Faravash called in the big blind and players flipped their cards, with Faravash tabling 3c 3s and Al-Sayegh showing Kc 9d.
The board ran out 3s Jd 5d Qd 7c where Al-Sayegh missed a flush and Faravash held with a set of threes to win the coveted pot, the tournament and the trophy. Faravash earned himself a total of €405,296. Al-Sayegh walked away with €186,720 and € 8,000 for a total of € 194,720.
The event saw a total of 14 players return to the felts for the third and final day. Stephane Gabarre (14th for €14,760) was the first player to bow out and he was followed by Birger Larsen (13th for €17,700) and Louis Linard (12th for €17,700), Seonguk Huh (11th for €21,240), and Hossein Ensan (10th for €21,240 ) all exiting the tournament before the coveted final table.
