India is one of the driving forces in gaming, with over 40% of the world’s gamers; however, the country’s gamers only contribute 1% to global gaming revenue. Anuraag Saxena, CEO of the E-Gaming Federation (EGF), discussed this at a recent roundtable in Ahmedabad.

The EGF, one of India’s leading industry bodies for skill gaming, hosted the roundtable where CEO Anuraag Saxena shed light on the rapid rise of the gaming industry and emphasized the need for clear legal framework to support the growth and distinguish skill-based gaming from illegal offshore gambling platforms.

The Indian gaming industry has witnessed exponential growth and is expected to soar from $3.1 billion to $8.92 billion in the next five years. Thus, Indian gaming is on the brink of the global leadership.

“We are on the brink of global leadership in gaming. EGF is committed to turning this vision into reality by fostering a safe, well-regulated environment for responsible, skill-based gaming to thrive in India,” Saxena highlighted. With over 442 million gamers, India is poised to take a leading role in the global gaming market in the coming years.

Check out the exclusive conversation with Saxena sharing how EGF is shaping a responsible, well-regulated ecosystem, supporting the Industry’s growth and addressing misconceptions about online gaming in India.

India’s online gaming sector has already demonstrated significant growth potential, and with EGF’s support, it is set  to make an even greater impact. As the industry continues to evolve, gaming will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in shaping India’s future, both technologically and economically.
