It has been a blockbuster week with several prestigious live poker tournaments crowning their champions. Most recently, we saw the conclusion of WPT Seminole Rock’n’Roll Poker Open Main Event and WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Las Vegas Main Event. Here is a quick recap!
Dylan Smith Wins WPT Seminole Rock’n’Roll Poker Open Main Event
We saw the conclusion of several tournaments yesterday, with the World Poker Tour (WPT) Seminole Rock’n’Roll Poker Open Main Event taking the center stage. Serving as the key highlight of the 2024 WPT Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open festival, the tournament drew an impressive 1,435 entries and crowned a winner in Dylan Smith, who came close to winning the a WPT main Event in May this year, placing fifth in the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown main event.
Smith eventually overcame Matthew Beinner in heads-up to claim the coveted title and a career-best score of $662,200. This marked his first live title of2024 and fourth final table finish, boosting live tournament earnings to $2,565,141.

This $3,500 buy-in main event featured a $3 million guarantee and easily surpassed its specified guarantee, generating $4,592,000 in the final prize pool. The top 181 finishers made the money and among them were several big names, including two-time bracelet winner Jesse Lonis (29th – $27,500), 2015 WSOP main event champion Joe McKeehen (26th – $27,500), Ren Lin (22nd – $32,500), recent PGT Texas PLO Roundup high roller winner Adam Hendrix (18th – $39,000), two-time bracelet winner Alexandre Reard (14th – $46,000), and WPT champions Matthew Wantman (8th – $84,000, and Darryll Fish (7th – $108,000).
The fifth and final day began with Matthew Beinner in the lead. Paul Domb was the first to fall after his pocket jacks ran into the pocket kings of Beinner. Pocket kings held up, busting Domb in sixth place ($140,000).
The next player to fall was Francis Anderson, who got all-in again with pocket queens racing against the A-K of Beinner. The turn brought a king to leave Anderson in rough shape and no queen came till the river, leading to Anderson’s exit in fifth place ($184,000). Following Anderson to the rail was Landon Tice, who ran his pocket nines into the pocket tens of Florian Ribouchon to exit in fourth place ($245,000).
Despite scoring the elimination, Ribouchon was the next player to fall, with his pocket sixes losing to pocket nines of Beinner and ending his run in third place ($325,000).
The heads-up battle saw Beinner holding just shy of a 2:1 chip over Smith, who put up a good fight to edge into the lead and eventually close it with a victory. On the final hand, Smith jammed with his chip-leading stack with 7c 6c and Beinner with Qh Jd. The Kh 7d 6d gave Smith the lead with sixes and sevens. The turn 9c gave Beinner a straight draw but the river 3s ended his run in second place, crowning Smith as the champion of the event.

David Jackson Wins WSOPC Circuit Main Event At Horseshoe Las Vegas
Over to the 2024 World Series of Poker Circuit. Hosted at Horseshoe Las Vegas, the the series featured 18 gold ring events across its 12-day run from November 21 to December 3 and ended with the $1,700 buy-in NLH main event crowning its champion in two-time WSOP bracelet winner David Jackson, who overcame a star-studded field of 455 entries to claim the $139,996 top prize and his second WSOPC gold ring.
This marked his third live title of 2024. With the latest win, Jackson who had won his first ring at Harrah’s Cherokee in 2017, took his live earnings to a massive $5,025,130.

The WSOP Circuit Event #15: $1,700 Main Event generated an impressive $689,325, which was finally shared by the top 69 players. Day 2 of the event ended with only 11 players remaining out of the 107 returning players. Returning to the final day among the 11 players, three-time bracelet winner Upeshka De Silva fell just short of the final table, taking home $8,279 as the 10th-place finisher.
Jacob Mendelsohn (9th – $10,451) and Martin Cornero ( 8th – $13,470) were the next players to hit the rail. MSPT Venetian Poker Bowl main event winner Terry Fleischer exited in seventh place ($17,717) after his 10-9 suited ran into the pocket jacks of Walter Connors. He was followed by Matt Affleck (6th), Ryan Leng (5th) and Brian Battistone (4th) to the rail.
After busting Battiston, Jackson went on to bust Walter Connors who shoved with ace-king leading the king-eight of Jackson, who found An eight on the board, eliminating Connors in third place ($64,470).
Jackson began the heads-up with more than a 2:1 chip lead over Livnat. The final hand saw all the chips go in on a 7s 6c 2c. Jackson held Jc 7d against the 8c 7c of Livnat. The 10d landed on the turn and the river 6h came on the river, locking up the victory for Jackson. Livnat took home a career-best score of $93,329 as the runner-up finisher.
