The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Pompano Beach is running full steam at Harrah’s Pompano Beach Casino. Set to conclude on February 10, the18-event live poker series has already crowned four champions with Cindy Spier becoming the first female champion of the ongoing series. This marked her first WSOP ring win following multiple previous deep runs across the WSOPC events.
Jaka Coaching member Cindy came from Boston to compete in the WSOPC down at Pompano Beach and the decision has paid off handsomely as she has already won her first WSOPC ring with her thumping victory in Event #4: $400 Seniors of the 2025 WSO Pompano Beach. She overcame a competitive field of 307 entries to take home an impressive $21,470 from the prize pool. This marked her sixth live title and maiden WSOP ring. However, she is no stranger to scoring big at WSOPC as she has already two podium finishes worth $263k in the WSOPC Main Event at Verona in 2022 and 2023.
2025 WSOPC Pompano Beach Event #4: $400 Seniors Quick Recap
The WSOPC Pompano Beach Event #4: $400 Seniors received an overwhelming response, drawing 307 entries to more than double its $50K GTD prize pool and generate $101,310, which was shared by the top 47 finishers. The largest share of the prize pool belonged to the final table players. The first casualty from the final table was none other than the 3-time WSOPC ring winner falling Nancy Birnbaum in 10th place for $1,374.
She was followed by the likes of Brazilian Andre Duek (9th-$1,700), Glenn Shapiro (8th-$2,156), Frank Martin (7th-$2,797), Alexander Cecenas (6th-$3,712) and Christopher Bucceri ($5,037). During the four-handed play, start-of-final table chip leader and eventual champion Cindy Spier picked up aces against pocket kings of Mike Preston. Ace held up to put Spier back in the lead. She continued her momentum and busted Korean player Jae Kyung Sim. The latter lost it with a straight versus Spier’s flopped flush to exit in third place for a cool $9,896.
Finally, it came down to heads-up where Spier held the significant chip lead over Michael Brigante and went all the way to seal it for her first-ever WSOP ring. On the final hand, Brigante held king-eight against Spier’s sevens and the pot went Spier’s way, giving her the coveted title.
