The inaugural Chase Cup Festival held at Poker8 Cebu, Philippines has finally concluded. In this report, I’m going to discuss the Chase Cup Main Event and High Roller Event.
Chase Coakaliong created history by winning the inaugural Chase Cup Main Event for PHP 1,140,183 (~$19,930). The main event attracted a total of 495 players across the five starting flights, pushing the prize pool to over PHP 8.1 million (~$143k). The prize pool was distributed among top 64 players, with final table players taking a significant amount of money.
After negotiating a three-way deal, Coakaliong not only secured the top prize money but also took the prestigious 24k gold-plated Chase Cup Trophy.

Cokaliong entered the final table as the chip leader with a massive 104 big blind stack among the final nine players. The first elimination occurred early in the second level, with Mike Takayama falling in 9th place.
Kendrick Lim was the next to depart at 8th place. Shortly after, Alex Lai and Martin B, both short-stacked players, were eliminated in 6th and 7th place.
Now only 5 players remaining at the table, and it lasted a while. Joel Diaz, who had a lower stack than the other 4 players, eventually bowed out in 5th place. Chris Boys maintained a strong position until losing a significant chip to Junni Pamplona. He was shortly eliminated by the hand of Cokaliong. Boys were eliminated in 4th place.
After the elimination, Cokaliong, Conard Lumaban, and Junnie Pamplona agreed on an ICM deal. In which both three players took a prize money of PHP 1,140,183, while Cokaliong won the Main Event and walked away with the Trophy as well a Rolex Watch.
Talking about his win in an Instagram post, Cokaliong hopes someone can beat him in the next Chase Cup.
Dexter Drillo Ships High Roller for PHP 443,800 (USD 7,750)
The PHP 50,000 (~$873) High Roller Tournament at the Chase Cup drew entries of 23 players, with a prize pool Of PHP 1,048,600 (~ $18,330). The prize pool was later shared among Top 5 players.
The local Philippines player Dexter Drillo beat William Ysmael in the heads-up to win the High Roller event for PHP 443,800. The player also took home the Champions trophy.
