The PokerStars LIVE Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Cambodia 2025 is wrapping up at the luxurious NagaWorld Integrated Resort in Phnom Penh today. Running from May 2nd to 13th, the coveted Asian series featured 68 trophy events with a gigantic prize pool of $1.5 million, including $1 million set aside for the highlighted Main Event.
The Main Event final table is underway, and we will soon have a new champion. Meanwhile, Team India is roaring at this prestigious series with four victories and more than 12 final table finishes. Currently in the spotlight is Avneesh Munjal — who took down Event #62: $2,000 buy-in Knockout High Roller Bounty, adding another prestigious trophy to his cabinet.
Avneesh Munjal Ships His First Live PokerStars Trophy
Avneesh Munjal secured his first-ever live PokerStars trophy by winning the Knockout High Roller event at APPT Cambodia 2025. Besides the glory, he earned an impressive first-place prize of $12,695. The $2,000 buy-in Knockout High Roller saw a turnout of 26 entries, culminating in a $33,405 prize pool, along with an additional bounty prize pool.
From the 26 entries, the top 5 finishers received payouts from the prize pool. Israel’s Nadav Cohen picked up $5,428 for his podium finish, while China’s Hongru Zhang battled Munjal heads-up for the title. Munjal eventually emerged victorious, defeating Zhang, who earned $8,184 for his effort.

A Look at Avneesh Munjal’s Impressive Poker Career
Munjal began his poker career back in 2018 with online poker. He started juggling between live and online formats in 2019. As of now, Munjal has lifetime online poker earnings of ₹8.34 crore and $233,568 from live poker. In addition to his numerous online trophies and payouts, Munjal has established himself as one of the top Indian players in the Asian live poker scene.
Munjal’s first-ever live tournament victory came in 2023, when he outlasted a massive 510-entry field to win the WPT Opener event at WPT Prime Vietnam, pocketing $32,838 and a WPT trophy. His next victory came a year later, when he won the Vietnam Poker League Short Deck event for a $1,852 payday. In November 2024, Munjal won the APT Phu Quoc High Roller Double Stack event for a career-high $60,981, securing his first-ever APT trophy.
Munjal has kicked off 2025 in style, securing his first PokerStars trophy at APPT Cambodia, winning the Knockout High Roller for $12,695, bringing his live poker earnings close to ₹2 crore.
