The 2024 Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taipei Poker Classic concludes tomorrow, but the poker excitement in Asia is far from over. October promises to be a big month for Asian poker fans, with several exciting festivals ahead, offering more than$1 million in guarantees.
While there are several exciting live poker events to look forward to, two of them offer nearly $3 million in guarantees. Below are the top 5 Upcoming Live Poker Events you cannot miss this October!
Asian Poker Tour (APT) Manila – Oct 28th – November 07th
After a two-year hiatus since the last Asian Poker Tour festival in Manila, the Asian Poker Tour is returning to Philippines’ Manila with a staggering PHP 170 Million (~$3 million) total festive guarantee. The festival is scheduled to begin on October 28 and wrap up on November 7 inside the City of Dreams Resort.
From the jaw-dropping PHP 170 million, 100 million (~$1.8 million) would be spent on the PHP 85,000 (~$1,500) buy-in main event. The series boasts 22 high-roller events, 21 mixed games, 20 Pot-Limit Omaha games, and several low buy-in satellites to key events.
PokerStars APPT Manila Championship – Oct 18th – Oct 27th
Manila travelers won’t be able to breathe, as PokerStars is coming to Okada Manila with the second biggest guarantee in the Asian continent offering PHP 152.5 million (~$2.6 Million) in October. The series is gearing up to kick off from October 18th and to end on October 27th. The series will be hosted inside the PokerStars live poker room inside the luxurious Okada Manila.
The key highlights of the 2024 APPT Manila includes the Red Dragon Event PHP 70k with PHP 25 million GTD, and the APPT Championship aka the main event with PHP 55 million (~$1 million) guarantee.
TMT Championship – Oct 25th – Nov 04th
Taiwan Millions Tournament is set to debut the inaugural TMT Championship at the Asia Poker Arena, from October 25th to November 4th. The 11-day poker series offers several low to high buy-in tournaments. The crown jewel of the series is the Main Event with NTD33K (~$1,030) buy-in that offers TND 20 million (~$600k) in guarantee.
Besides the series offerings, Asian Poker Arena also confirmed that players will be able to battle against some of the top poker players in Asia, and has confirmed the participation of 2024 WSOP Ladies winner Shiina Okamoto, and Asian Poker Tour ambassador Kurusu Usako.
Hanoi Series of Poker New Era – Oct 25th – Nov 03rd
Grand Loyal Poker Club in collaboration with Vietnam Poker Club hosts the Hanoi Series of Poker New Era, which offers VND 20 billion approximately $800k in the total series guarantee. The series will run from October 25th to November 3rd inside the Grand Loyal and Grand Vista Hotel Hanoi.
The key highlights of the series includes the HSOP New Era Opener which offers VND 2 Billion (~$81k) in guarantee and a new club trophy for the champion. The Main Event of the series offers VND 4 Billion (~$163,800) in guarantees.
Japan Open Poker Tour Tokyo – Oct 10th – Oct 14th
Japan Open Poker Tour (JOPT) Tokyo has always been a popular poker series in Japan. The upcoming edition of the series runs from October 10 to 14. The previous stop at Tokyo attracted nearly 2,700 players in the Main Event. As poker is illegal in Japan, players won’t get cash, rather will get a seat at bigger tournaments all around the world.
